Simply Rocks!
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week Pros: This is the best stereo/HTIB that I have ever owned or heard for that matter. I spend hours on the computer reading reviews and they did not lie. For the money spent this system can not be beat. The sound is awesome and the bass from the sub simply makes a movie come to life. The surrounds are really there. Not like some I have heard that barely make noise. The included Ipod dock is a great plus too. Buy it an...

Excellent sound, great price
Terrific product for the price!!! Hook up is easy. I could have the system up and running in less than 15 minutes. The Audessey EQ system signficantly improves the listening experience and is easy to set up. The best features are the sound quality and theIPod dock. It is difficult to find such a great sounding system with an IPOD DOCK for the price. You can hook up three different HDMI sources with a single HDMI output to the TV. The only drawback is that all HDMI connections are pass-through on...

Excellent Value especially for those who don't need TrueHD or DTS-HD
The S5100s provide solid sound performance for a fair price. Setup is easya nd the sound calibration feature is a welcome bonus to help setup a good sound experience. Best features include a ipod dock works with the iphone at least for ipod fuctionality numerous connectivity options including two TOSLINK optical inputs coax digital input and various standard stereo analog inputs. brbrThe receiver has three HDMI inputs but be AWARE that these are video passthrough only. If you are looking to deco...

Rock the house
I bought this system to work with my Samsung blu-ray player. It was the only sound system I found without a dvd player built in I also really wanted the I-pod dock. The sound is great and the subwoofer really shakes the walls. My only complaint is that the sound does not run through the HDMI cable. The digital audio cable provides great sound though. I really appreciated the multiple HDMI ports. Good system.

Excellent value for the price
I was originally intending to buy the Onkyo receiver and/or the 5.1 speaker system but then ended up buying this one. Excellent buy at the price, when I ordered the system earlier on. Easy to set up, the automated speaker calibration works cool and it indeed helped. I did not use the speaker wires provided with this system but instead bought 14 and 16 gauge wires from the local Frys instead, since in some cases the length of the wires exceeded 20-30 foot when run through the walls. The only prob...

HDMI issues but overall it works fine.
Great sound and great price. The only down side is when I called the manufacturer customer support number I found out the HDMI input does not work for audio from a BlueRay or DVD player on this model. Go figure that ????? We ended up using a Fiber Optic connection for the audio and everything worked out fine. I was convinced it was defective until I called the support hotline.brThe unit is fine for the price with lots of connection options and sounds great....what more could anyone ask for.

Superb
I bought this to replace my old 500 watt---I was surprised at the size of the speakers--Most HT have the small ones-These were pretty nice size-Was looking at the 5.1 and decided to go with the 7.1 w HDMI inputs which this one has 3--Setup was prettyeasy--But I would recommend reading the manual!! Sound is excellent..What I really like about this HTIB is the auto calibration mic--No more pink noise manual adjustments--Just set the mic in 3 places and let it do its calculations--What a breeze---M...

Pimpin System
Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: First, this thing is SUPER POWERFUL! 1200 Watts of 7.1 surround sound goodness. The speakers are of excellent quality, and look excellent next to my PS3, the glossy black finish matches perfectly. Setup was a breeze with color coded wires and speaker connections every grandma could set this up. (tho might need some help tightening the screws due t...

Awesome!
This system is insanely incredible.
I baught this system with both eyes open. I knew the HDMI connections were video pass-through only. I knew the connections available weren't up to snuff with the 'bigger boys' (Onkyo 606 and on). But I didn't care... The quality I get for the price tag is a complete steal.
In this package, you get 7 speakers and a beasty powered subwoofer (290 watts). The receiver has 2 HDMI inputs and 1 output, 2 component ins and 1 out, 2 optical inpu...

Nice 7.1 system for the price
This is an excellent value for a 7.1 theatre system from a very good company. I bought this system with future Blu-Ray movies and hopefully HDTV shows one day putting out 7.1 because right now all the 7.1 will do is mimic the rears and produce those sounds from the second layer rear speakers. I have two issues with this system but they are minor when you factor in going up to the level of system that will do what I want is another $500. First the HDMI is not a true HDMI switching because you ...
