avoid at all costs

Pros: cheap
Cons: Purchased two drives for backups, First one died after 2 months with ticking sound and corrupt data, second drive died 4 months later with same symptoms. Between hardware failures and the past issues with drive firmware, seagate quality is non-existent starting with teh 7200.11 drives. Will never use a seagate drive as well.

Not good for RAID

Pros: High speed, low price, great drive
Cons: it was some what loud. i have 5 of this drive, which 4 is running in RAID 5 system with the EVGA X58 motherboard. each time the software check for the RAID system one drive fail, but the drive it was working you just need to rest it. I don't think this drive allow you to run RAID

Pros: Its 1TB for less than a benjamin! And I was surprised at just how fast it tested on a few benches. around 115mb/s read and 110 writes. NICE!
32mb cache helps as well.
Cons: umm. Its not mine.. Bought this for a customers pc. The 4th in his rig, along with 4x60gb vertex ssd's with win7 on em.
