Awesome camera
 
The wide angle lens is great, the pictures taken are clear and vibrant, and the camera offers lots of presets and flexibility for shots in different environments. I would recommend this camera to anyone looking for a great point and shoot.

Shutterlag
 
One of the most important things I needed in a camera is minimal shutterlag when taking pictures to capture those immediate poses and expressions of the kids. This works well for that in well-lit conditions but as soon as you require a flash it is just like all the others. Great screen, pictures, menus, etc...

Canon never dissatisfies
 
I moved up from a Canon SD630 6 MEG pix to the 8Mp SDSD870 IS. This is an amazing camera for the person who likes to do scrapbooking, like me, or just go out and take beautiful snapshots. Even in Manual mode this camera takes awesome shots. I love the 3" LCD screen just like the 630 had, but I swear it's at a higher resolution. HAS NO OPTICAL VIEWFINDER AND USES A HARD TO FIND AND EXPENSIVE PROPRIETARY BATTERY
 
This is a good camera. But, it has no optical viewfinder and it uses an expensive and hard to find proprietary battery that needs recharging every night in heavy use such as on a vacation. I like the Nikon P50 which has an LCD/Optical viewfinder, a wide angle lens, and uses regular AA batteries or rechargable "rayovac hybrid" rechargable batteries. boland7214@aol

Got this for my wife for our 2nd Anniversary
 
This is such a great camera. The 3 inch screen stands out even outside. I love the wide-angle lense which allows you to get those people to the side when taking a group picture. There are many different shooting modes made for just about any situation. I have the SD550 and this is definitely a great upgrade to it. The image stabilization works even at full optical zoom and the face detection really does make a difference. I'm more than happy with the purchase and we hope to use this camera for m...
