Now I have a second TV. Many have said the slingbox seems like an item that is too good to be true but I have to say this item is the real deal. I wanted a second TV in my office and decided to go with the slinbox AV instead - at least for now. :) The installation was pretty simple. I installed mine to connect to a Comcast digital cable box. I actually got a second box so as not to interfere with my wife's red carpet shows etc. but you can hook it up to just the one box you may already have. The performance is excelle...

Slingbox AV Pretty Slick The Slingbox is easy to set up and produces good results. The hitch is that it's not good if you have a slow internet connection. A lot of hotels have poor connections, so I'm not always able to get a usable picture. With a good connection, it works very well. The remote control simulator is cool, and makes the viewing experience very similar to watching my own TV. Some of the printed instructions are out of date with what's on the installation CD, but this didn't cause any problems with set-up.

Amazingly easy. Works perfectly. In terms of value, I was lucky to purchase my Slingbox AV during December 2006 for $108 thanks to the Google Checkout promotion. Even still, at $138 this product is a steal. It took me 15 minutes to set up everything. My setup included plugging the Slingbox AV into my Tivo S2 (AV cables & IR cables), plugging the ethernet cable from my home network into the Slingbox AV, and installing the Slingplayer software on my computers. Awsome Product Works great. I have a friend in Italy that uses more than I do, they said the picture looks great with a 256kbs download speed. The setup is a little hard if you are running it through a router. You have to know how to configure the ports for it to work properly. There is a little bit of a delay when you are operating it remotely but that is expected. I recomend that whatever computer you are running sligbox on has at least a 128 meg video card. I have an old laptop with 32 meg and it runs glitc...
