This access point is unreliable
 
We were using this access point at work since it's advertised as being capable of handling a "small business network." It works solidly for about 2 months and it began loosing connection once a week then progressively dying everyday at about the 7th month before even power cycling won't start it up. I received a replacement and that died in less than half a year. Nothing was done to have the product replaced again. If you want an unreliable product that could last give or take a year, go ahead. ...

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ITEM, IT IS JUNK.
 
My husband has a computer business and has purchased 5 of these devices for various customers. Each and every one of them have failed. Three of them within the 3 months Netgear will provide free support for and two of them after 1 year.

When they work they don't work so well, a lot of disconnects, and network not found. Working with support stated that too many wireless networks in a congested area will cause this. Understandable, but hardware failures are not understandable.

Multiple Failuers
 
I originally purchased the WN802T in Sept 2006 and it failed in April 2007, Netgear advanced shipped a replacement, but it too failed around the end of Nov 2007. Similar symptons both times - Steady power light, does not self test, no connectivity either wired, or wireless.

Works great
 
I have had the Netgear WAP for about a week now and have had absolutely no problems. Setup was simple, I didn't even read the directions other than to find out it's IP address and default login name. Customized everything for my two laptops; WEP encryption, MAC address filtering and network addressing. I was up and running in about 10 minutes. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a good WAP for their home or business.

excellent coverage, and fast too
 
Finally, a WiFi access point that provides excellent coverage for all rooms of my two story home. Easy setup. Fast connection with a RangeMax PCI card.
