FVS338 does what it says it will do   I have used the the FVS318 for several years but needed the improved performance that the FVS338 was touted to have. I ordered three to connect our 3 offices together and have not been disappointed, the speed increase through the WAN is greatly improved over the FVS318. The stability of the unit is also improved all though stability was never much of a problem with the FVS318. The new interface in the FVS338 took a little getting used to but the added configuration features a worth it... Excellent Product!   I've been using the Netgear FVS line of products for a while now and have been quite happy with them. The router comes with some REALLY nice features a few of which are: Port translation, a must have for users with ISPs that block ports. Bandwidth usage monitor again an essential feature for people who have ISPs that meter their bandwidth (cough, Comcast!) and the firewall is a must have for security of your network. Excellent VPN   I've got these units scatter all over the place with standard and agressive tunnels. Rock solid. If you thinking about a router with reliable VPN this is the one. BTW, Forget the Netgear FVS 318 any verisions 1 and 2, they are crap. Have replace every one in my customer's sites. You can use them for a nice door stop though. ALso, another piece of crap is the Linksys RVS4000. Even with the Firmware update, the Agressive VPN failed to work, and the units buffer would overlo...
