Easy setup, excellent performance

I've had the BD30 for about a year, so I'll chip in. I tried a Sony before buying the BD30 but the Sony took much longer to load data. The setup was fairly easy using HDMI to a Sony XBR4 flatscreen and a JVC 5.1 surround. I'm using an optical cable for audio to the JVC. One firmware upgrade has been issued and I chose to download the upgrade, burn a CD, and let the player upload from the CD. An alternate method is to connect the unit to a wired internet connection and upgrades are automatic. ...

Panasonic BD-30 Blueray Player

Complicated setup when using standard DVD's as no video is output from the HDMI port. Have to use composite or if you want good quality upconverting then component cables are necessary. This is not covered in the manual as it implys you can get output from HDMI for everything. I was not able to do that with the units I had. If you use only Blueray then its not a issue.

Good buy for Blu-ray player

Excellent price. Relatively easy to navigate screen. Panasonic makes great DVD players & I expect this will be the same for this Blu-ray player. This is a well rated player on most websites that sell it.

Very Good Blue Ray Player

I have my Panasonic DMP-BD30K - Blue-ray DVD Player connected to my Samsung HL S0F087W 1080p DLP TV by HDMI connector. I'm also using a Yamaha receiver which is connected via fiber optic cable. I have no complaints with the picture quality with the player and Blue Ray player. The DB30K has one of the fastest movie load times so you don't have to wait a long time for the movie to start playing. Some Sony models I looked at took almost two full minutes to load. Just Awesome!!!

The price was fair with free shipping and it arrived in one day. I hooked it up to my new Panasonic Plasma in seconds with an HDMI cable and started playing a movie immediately. You won't believe the detail. The chassis is sleek and very low profile. It looks so elegant that I kept it on top of the entertainment credenza instead of inside with the rest of the components. The EZ-Sync feature is automatic and works great. This Panasonic Blu-ray was the right choice for me.
