The best purchase I have made this year.
Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: *Excellent range *Excellent uptime *Very easy to use web interface. *Install CD made configuring the router a non-issue. *Gigabit Switch is really spoiling me on my non-wireless nodes.
I did a decent amount of research before buying the 633GR, but there were no owner reviews out at the time, so I took a chance, and I ...

Verdict is still out
Final verdict on the Trendnet TEW-633GR and its routing problem. (See Final Update below for the end results.)
Summary: When I connect my systems (Red Hat, Windows, Palm OS, OS/2 (Warp/Server)), PS2, etc to the Internet using this router, I'm unable to reach various Internet addresses. Doing a trace route finds the packets go so far and then get "Destination Network Unreachable."
NOTE: This also occurs from the router's administration page's ping page not just from vari...

The best router I have ever owned!
Pros: Ubicom Firmware for great QOS, with a ton of firmware options. Nice looking, and VERY stable.
Cons: None
This is easily the best router I have ever owned. Previous routers I have owned were the Linksys WRT-54G, Dlink DGL-4500, Zyxel X-550.
This router is FAR more stable than any of the other routers I have owned. For example, in both the Dlink and Zyxel routers, the "User access control" would always eventually lock up the router if I turned on logging. Thi...

Increased my connection by 26k kbps!! True story
This was my first and only router setup ever and it was so easy even the most technically challenged user could do it. I'm running Vista Home Premium and have Comcast cable 6mb connection but it's been running very slow lately, about 2k kbps download. I was very hesitant to use the installation CD to begin the setup after reading numerous reviews saying the setup process would get hung up and error out but I gave it a shot myself, followed the instructions word for word and didn't have a single ...

Unlike some routers, this one is easy to install and easy to encrypt/secure wirelessly
Unlike some routers that you have to configure before you can get them to work, this one came with an installation CD that did the job right, no strings attached. Instructions were extremely simple and easy to follow, and i've never had any problems with it. Encrypting/securing the router is part of the installation, and you don't have to be a computer junkie to figure it out. About the only downside of the product is fingerprints are highly visible on it when you touch it since it's like a b...

192.168.10.1
192.168.10.1 again 192.168.10.1
That is the address to access the router. Dlink likes to use 192.168.0.1, well that's the address for the Trendnet. Now why is it so important? Because they don't bother to tell you what it is until after you install all this crazy network monitoring crap that you don't need. They force you to use the CD to setup the router, ok fine, if you are a total newbie and have no ideal what you are doing, then I can understand how the CD would help with step by ...

Simply the Best
Pros: Rate, Range, Features.
Cons: None really - only GIG WAN port is useless at this time.
I only have 802.11g clients at this time - getting full 54 Mbps (all the client can do) with 75% signal at 50 feet and 1 floor away while I was getting half of the rate and signal with old 802.11g router at the same location. WISH Feature is cool and it works.

Technology is apparently only as useful as the user
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: First off, I'd like to say that if you need a program to connect to your router, you have an issue to begin with. I didn't bother installing the software and it took about five minutes to setup my whole house with WPA encryption. The router worked beautiful, unlike my previous netgear.
I was going to install a dd-wrt firmware when it is available but ...

Waste Of Time And Money
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: Their technical support was actually very responsive. There's absolutely nothing good about this product, though.
Cons: Unfortunately for their tech support, they're supporting a very lousy product. Lousy is too kind, actually. I installed the router and installed the included program called "Network Magic" thinking it would ...

Dont Buy This
Ok I bought this since it looked like a deal. I'm running Vista home Premium on a New HP desktop. I worked for hours trying to get this device to connect to the internet. I could create a local LAN but nothing could get it up on the net. Their customer service was poor and didn't even know this product! I ended up with a Linksys 610N and it is great!
