Cons: When I bought it, it would drop the connection randomly. After firmware update to v2b12 (which was the only one available at the time) it still did the same thing. A week later, they release v2b19. This one stops the random drops!

Excellent Product with reliable performance
I installed this product few days back. The set up is very easy unlike similar product from other manufacturers.
I had a bitter experience with a famous company earlier. They replaced the product once but still I was having the problem. I was losing wireless as well as LAN connection. Set up was very difficult and need to consult their technical support. Finally I decided to throw that router away and but a new one.

good router, with unique options in firmware
Upgrading finally from my B router. Probably the last one in the neighborhood to do so.
There are three versions of the TEW-432BRP (the outer casings look slightly different). They're roughly labelled A, B, and C. I wound up with the C one. Its the best G router i've ever seen, for a few reasons:

Easy setup, good coverage
Easy to setup (took less than 45 minutes).
Strong Wi-Fi signal, works fine two rooms across.
Very useful and convenient as it has both wired and wireless options. I use the wired option (LAN connection) for my desktop computer and VOIP phone and the wireless for my laptop.
Definitely recommend it.

I researched what is available on the market, and this router had all the features I wanted - MAC filtering, WPA password protection, 54 Mbps, can be used as a switch, works with PC and Mac. Cripple-Ware... Forces Wireless Network to be Public Unless Bribed
I recommended AGAINST buying this product.
The software as shipped has important functionality limited to the initial "trail" period of 30-days. DO NOT ACCEPT having a router that refuses to do MAC detection and refuses to hide its name unless you pay it more money.

In the 1920's or perhaps the 1980's, you would have had real troubel finding a 54 Mbps 802.11g Wireless Firewall Router? These electronics were very expensive and the sole domain of large broadcasters! Trendnet TEW-432BRP wireless router
The router works fine, but I wish they had specifically told us that the CD that comes along with contains "only" the installation manual and no s/w. Since I had already installed these kinds of wireless router before, I had no problems, but I am pretty sure that a newbie would struggle with it. They must say that one has to open a web browser and point it to the address http://192.168.1.1 and use "admin" as the default user name and passwd to get into the system admin tool s/w.

Rebate issue
This is (at best) average gear. The only thing that makes this special is the rebate. You may not get the rebate.
TrendNet has one of the worst records for rebates, usually in bottom-5 (http://www.rebatereportcard.com/). Doesn't matter how careful you are or how much documentation you save. They deny on some pretext, have you re-submit, then wait 2 months to anwswer and terminate your case "because the promotion is over". Won't even accept correspondence. Class-action case at TX Atto...
