Inexpensive and VERY feature packed.
I did a lot of surfing of reviews here on Amazon to decide whether or not to get this Di-604. I decided... what the heck, some reviews are good and it's kinda cheap. I'll take a risk. Here's what I have to say about it:

Keeps Hackers Out
Installed the D-Link DI-604 with 2 computers, one running Windows 98 and the other one running Windows XP Pro. The installation took about 20 minutes. The firewall works well. I tested the firewall by using Shields Up Test ...I recieved the newer DI-604 case than is shown in amazon.com picture. I did update the firmware by downloading the binary file from D-Link's website. Consistant with its performance
Within the 3 months I've had this thing up and running, I have had only a few snags in operation. Two of them were when our ISP went out for a couple hours or so, and the other was when I was figuring out how to allow certain ports to be passed through to a certain IP address. Parental Controls are a HUGE Plus
I have two younger (14 and 8) children and they are lucky enough to have their own computers in their own rooms. I am always worried about what sites they are visiting or how late they are up "chatting" or playing games after they are supposed to be sleeping. With this router I can control all of that.

So-far so-good, works great with SWBell DSL (PPPoE)
I was a bit nervous about setting up my home network even though I work in the Information Technology field. The main reason was that every inexpensive 4 port broadband router (D-Link, Linksys, Netgear, etc.) had about 20% of their reviews being just terrible. Simple, Reliable, and above all else. . . Cheap!
The DI-604 is a great little router. Though I would never recommend that someone who knows nothing about configuring a router to try it on their own, this may be an exception. It has effective wizards and a remarkably user friendly interface that is accessed through your favorite web browser. I purchased this router thinking that d-link is reliable. (chuckling) Well I was wrong. I have had problems since day one. To begin with it would take anywhere from 3 seconds to over 3 days for it to connect to the WAN port when it booted.
