needs a software update but is good hardware
This is a good product but the software is a bit long in the tooth. If you plan to use software supplied by Zonet (Monitor) it will stop working if you allow windows to hardware update the driver (rt2500usb.sys). The newer driver version Microsoft has at the update center will not work with the Monitor software supplied on the Zonet CD. Also the software supplied by Zonet does not support WPA secuirty while the Windows WiFi networking software does.. My advice is to ignore the CD, plug the unit ...

Don't buy this one.
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: I bought two of these based off high ratings here at newegg but this was a mistake. These are awful. No positives except they were cheap and I didn't lose too much money.
Cons: They never worked properly, not once. Even 15 feet away from a quality linksys wireless router in the same room they'd lose signal constantly. We tried another...

Very good reception, ultra-compact size for desktop, easy to
Tech Level: Ownership: Comments: The ZEW2500P is a unique 802.11G USB wireless adapter in that it is marketed as a "desktop version". It is about the size of five or six stacked credit cards, so I suppose it will fit even the tiniest of desktops. Most likely, it is just a USB pen-style adapter in a different style case. That being said, it does perform well. It consistantly maintains a 54Mbps connection and a 95%+ signal from about 90 feet. It co...

Great Signal, Ralink Chipset ^_^
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: Awesome signal - this thing is going through 2 walls and 1 floor, and gets an 80%-ish signal; my integrated Broadcom chip is MUCH lower (< 50%) at the same spot. It is well-supported by Linux, as the drivers are open-source, and because it is based on the Ralink 2500 chipset, aircrack-ng supports it.
Cons: None, really...

Awesome unit!
Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: Wow, this thing is really, really a neat little unit. I'm converting to a G network with a Dlink router. It's very small, smaller than I expected. (Can't wait to take on vacation and mooch some inet. What a bargain for 30 bucks. Can't believe cool it looks. You can't go wrong, but read about the drivers

Just What I needed!!!
I thought I was going to return it because it is not one those brand name networking device. I was wrong, this device surpass my netgear product that I thought was the best. I got it very very cheap, it support WPA, and to use WPA you must read the manual. Simply put, it very good and has not disappoint me so far. It still keeps me connected.

Totally useless product
Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: cheap
Cons: aweful drivers Can only connect/reconnect if userid has administrator priveleges. A limited userid cannot connect at all. The ability to connect seems to run as a foreground task, so using this product as any kind of server (no login) is useless.

Not bad for USB, but...
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: Very small, uses USB cable to power itself, convenience
Cons: Short cable (had to buy extension), typical USB device lag.
Other Thoughts: This is a decent little wireless adapter if you MUST go USB. I used it on both USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 ports, and it exhibits the device lag typical of all communications equipm...
