Linux Users Beware
I purchased this card after borrowing a card with an identical product number from a friend. My friend's card worked out of the box with my version of Ubuntu Linux.
When I received my card, it simply did not work. After doing some research, I found that I had a card with a different version number, and a different chipset. Belkin's downloadable drivers do not function!
I am writing this here for anyone having trouble installing this card using Belkin's drivers from their support website.
Simply they are not the right drivers & will not work!
For a working driver for Win9x/2K/XP copy the following into the address bar: http://www.ralinktech.com/drivers/Windows/IS_STA_2500_D-3.0.3.0_U-2.3.6.0_042505_1.0.2.0.exe
This driver is from the actual chipmaker and works fine :-)

Incompatible with Mac OS X - Error on Belkin's Website
I bought Ver. 5000 of this card to use with my Pismo PowerBook running Mac OS X 10.3.9. Despite the claims on Belkin's website, this card is incompatible with Macs. Belkin does not even provide Mac drivers for this 'Mac-Compatible' card !!! A quick call to Tech Support confirmed this.
Older versions of this card (ver. 2000 and 3000) used the Broadcom chipset and are Mac compatible. Newer versions use the Atheros (?) chipset, which does not work in Macs.
I returned this car...

If you need to network an older laptop, try this!
I have an IBM 1400 series notebook circa 1999 where did the time go? with Windows 98 operating system. Until I can afford to upgrade to a newer laptop we decided to add this one to our new Netgear wireless network our house has SIX. All of the other computer including a desktop server with Windows 98--ancient Compaq were fine. Could NOT get the Netgear card to play with my laptop. After struggling with it and their tech support for five hours nice man but please dont ask me the same question...

X linksys user
Had the linksys 54g wireless router and 54g card had them 2 weeks linksys replaced each one and still had same problem.GAVE them away and got the Belkin 54g router and card there perfect.Linksys tech told me there are problems with there new wireless router.He was right

Could not ask for more
Im using it right now . The simplest possible installation. No problem in operation. incredible price after rebates. Im a novice and this has caused me no problems other than when I played with the settings and messed it up myself should have read temanual first

great adapter
The adapter replaced a SMC 802.11b which kept buzzing permamanently and dropped the connection way too often even when placed 10 inches from the router. The belkin works like a charm setup needed an upgrade of the software provided on the Belkin website but to be fair a yellow slip in the package advices from opening the box to get the updated driver so no complains but then works great and at highest speed both with my 802.11b Netgear router and my friends 802.11g Linksys router. I like a lot...

No probelms at all
Windows XP Dell Inspiron 1000 system. Pop in the CD insert the card up and running in 5 mins. Works great and good value for the price.
