easy to install, works instantly
The beauty of Apple is the simplicity of their products - the Mac, the iPod, everything just works without having to consult Carl Sagan, Neil Armstrong or Miss Cleo.
A note to those wanting to go wireless with an older computer: The Airport Card and the Airport Extreme Card are two different critters. They look different and this card will not work on older Macs fitted for the standard Airport card. Apple doesn't even sell the old Airport cards anymore. If you have an older Mac and wa...

I couldn't be happier.
I recently bought the 12" iBook G4, and had an Airport Extreme card installed at the Apple Store. We didn't purchase a base since frankly, being able to be online from any room in my house would probably be dangerous for my marriage! (we're both such geeks) However, my university and local library system both have WiFi installed and it has been a godsend. Set up was incredibly easy. My university requests that before any wireless connection is made to their system that you take your lap...

Worth it
The wireless revolution has seriously altered the way I work. It didn't seem like it was that big of a deal, to be able to work anywhere in the house on a laptop. And then I was home over Thanksgiving and tried my father's - it was incredible. So, soon after I had my own and I love it - I even ended up getting another one for my wife's laptop. Whether it's browsing amazon.com late at night in bed, checking morning email in the kitchen while the kids run around, or being able to set up a writi...

Do not buy from Mac-pro.com
Great item, but do not buy from mac-pro.com. Received a defective card and they were unwilling to replace it. I am left with all shipping charges and a 20% RESTOCKING fee. Will you end up buying my defective card? I got another card from another vendor and it works really well.

This card only works on Extreme Mac G4s
I purchased the card, paid the extra charge for overnight deliverly, only to discover my G4 tower was too old to use this card. If you have a G4 made prior Y2003, you will need the non-extreme airport card. The rating stars are N/A in this instance.

Extreme Card
I bought an Extreme Card for my G4 from ameris and it was faulty didn't load and wouldn't let the computer come on. Sent a note on the feedback and didn't get any response. Looks like I will have to eat the card and the cost. Not very happy with the vendor that amazon let sell the product on their site.

Do not work with non-Apple access points!
Does not work with non-Apple base stations! I had a PowerMac G5. I was told by Apple retail store clerks it will work any wireless G access points. But No! At my house my PC can see no less than 6 wireless AP's (some from neighbors, one mine). But this Airport card can only see one (which is an Apple Airport Station)! Tried everything ( Googled, set encryption modes, slow downed my LinkSys WAP tranfering bitrate to 2Mbps etc...) and no luck. Returning it tomorrow.

Incompatible with all but newest machines
Another fine example why you shouldn't waste your cash on Apple products. Apple had a perfectly fine airport card form factor. Apple chose to change it, and added the word "Extreme".This card will only work in the newest Apple computers. Next year when the 802.11h standard is introduced, Apple will change the form factor again to "Extremer" and your Macintosh won't work with it. You'll have to purchase a completely new Macintosh computer. But guess what? none of your...

Apple delivers once again!
Apple, once again, delivers yet another fantastic product. After doing my research to find a 3rd party wirless unit, I found I had no choice but to buy the Airport Extreme card for my imac G5. I'm using a Linksys Router and It works perfectly. I made the mistake of installing the card first then plugging in the antenna. If you install this be sure to plug in the antenna first making sure the plug is all the way in from tip to collar (which takes a little force) and then insert the card securly i...
