Boosts your wi-fi signal effectively
Buffalo Tech's WLE-DA2 is a small, lightweight indoor directional antenna that boosts your wi-fi signal. I've been using one for six months now and have been very happy with its performance.
The "directional" nature of this antenna means it broadcasts in one direction. In its line of sight, it can maintain 11Mbps speed as far as 100 meters (300 feet); if there are walls or other obstructions, this distance will obviously be shorter. When I place the antenna facing out my apartment ...

No better, No worse. I suggest the Omni.
Tech Level: Ownership: This user purchased this item from Newegg.com Comments: After connecting this "9 dBi" antenna to two different Buffalo cards, one PCI and one PCMCIA, I have concluded the signal improvement is no better but no worse than without it. Also, the omni-directional "2 dBi" actually seems to have a little better range, even in point to point scenarios. Really too bad, I was excited. On a positive note, NEWEGG IS THE BEST!...

Works very well if used correctly.
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg.com Pros: Works great. I had this thing extend my network range to about 1000 feet from the AP with line of sight. Without line of sight, such as through walls in my house, I had a signal improvement of about 200%. 200% being double the network strength shown.
Cons: Very fragile. The MC connector broke 2 days ago when I cleaning around the AP. I su...

Works great for me
Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: more than 1 year Pros: I am using this with a Proxim Orinoco gold card. It is connecting to a 3com wap approximately 600 feet away in another building. In between the buildings there are several obstructions to line of sight including two very large trees, a shed, and two large metal trailers. The proxim card alone does not connect and I've tried hanging usb adapters out the window without success. After plugging this ante...

Not a review, just some FYI!
Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: less than 1 day Pros: See 'other thoughts'
Cons: See 'other thoughts'
Other Thoughts: To those who are purchasing this in hopes of getting super range, such as for long range mobile internet usage, please take note. This extends the downstream range of your network (from the router to your wifi card). It does NOT extend your upstream range (from your wifi card to your router). ...

Good Product, Bad Adaptor
Pros: I purchased the AirStation for use with a desktop computer located in a bad area for wireless reception. The 9 foot cable allowed the AirStation to be situated in an area with less interference. The high gain and directional capabilities also improved the reception. Finally, the attractive appearance of the AirStation made it ideal for use in a highly visible area.
Cons: The AirStation comes with an "MC to RP-TNC" adaptor which does NOT mate with the wireless card in my des...

Decorative boost that Works
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month Pros: On the list of antennas that work, you'll find this one.
It outperforms its price point.
It looks nice, but its not as strong as the more-expensive and homely white corner reflect gutter looking thing; however, if you don't want to look at a huge thing like that, then get this cute little antenna here.
Pretty--in a tasteful approach tha blends in to a desktop computing environment without visual distraction...

Buffalo WLE-DA2 antenna really works!
The antenna works great, really increases the range for WiFi. I was able to connect with good (3 bar) signal with standard Linksys WiFi router at 250 ft. The only downgrade is the MX plug is a bit fragile. Too bad most other WiFi cards do not have external antenna connections.

Good Power; Basements Are A Problem
The directional nature of this antenna means you have to point it where you want the signal to to. So pointing from upstairs to down in the basement gives good power, but not excellent. I have not seen a better solution yet though, so without installing a repeater or hub this may be the only solution using just an antenna.
