Great Product!
So, what is important in a Wireless Access Point? To me, range of operation, throughput, reliability, ease of setup, and warranty are the most important. I have to rate this product a 5 over all!Range of Operation and Throughput --------------------------------- Suffice it to say, this combination of Access Point and Card cover my entire house. I connect at 11Mbps most places in the house. At the furthest point from the base unit, I connect reliably at 2Mbps. Not bad, considering that...

Easy does it
Man, I'm glad I bought this product. From the time I opened the box, I was up and running in no more than fifteen minutes. The signal quality and strength are both outstanding. I get consistently 80-90% signal quality and strength through two walls and over fifty feet of distance. (My condo is pretty small, but the walls are almost solid concrete.) I'm running the MAC address filtering and 128 bit encryption with no problems. As I write this review on my terrace, I couldn't be happier with m...

Good range, simple setup.
I bought this unit after returning the Linksys equivalent(WAP11 and the PCMCIA card), which was terrible. The setup on the SMC was a snap. I have it hooked up to a Linksys Cable/DSL router and Linksys Home Phone Network, which also works great(10Mb) over regular phone lines. The range on this thing is far better than the Linksys Wireless. I have the AP setup on the third floor. In the same room I consistenly get around 95% to 100% signal strength vs. the 50% on the Linksys! I go 1 flight down...

Took 5 minutes to install, works like a charm
After browsing here and reading the reviews I had decided on this package for price reasons. I just received it today, and it took me exactly 7 minutes to install it. I already had a network with a DCHP server and a hub, so I just pulled the base station from the box and plugged it into my hub. They said it was "plug and play" so I did not even install the utility software to try to do any configuration. I then popped the card into my laptop (windows 2000 professional) and instal...

Read the reviews and ignore the documentation
I originally rated it 5 stars with the following comments:If you ignore the documentation and read the reviews, you'll have it up and running in 5 minutes or less. This is totally a plug & play solution. Plug your Access Point into your Router/Hub/Switch and power up the Access Point. Next plug the Wireless Card into your PCMCIA slot. Windows 95/98/etc. will prompt you for the drivers. Insert the drivers diskette (have your Windows CD handy). The system might reboot. Then you come up and ...

Great alternative
I purchased the EZ Connect Bundle on a whim. I have a home network that works fine at 100mb/s. However, I had recently purchased a laptop. One of the things you buy a laptop for is to be mobile, on-site and off-site. My network consisted of a Linksys BEFR41 DSL Router. I connected the access point to an empty port, installed the access point access software on to a win2000 server and as soon as I started the software it searched for access points. It found the SMC access point fine. However I co...

Great product that does what it promises
Great connectivity, performance, and value. Out of 3 products I've tried, this is best. (Linksys was too weak on signal strength, Sohoware was too entry level). The only qualm I had was with it's wireless hub configuration utility. Utility does what it is supposed to do but I'd much rather have it working off of serial port or usb port for configuration (or somekind of internal webpage) rather than being restricted to wired network. (You can't configure it when you are on wireless notebook...
