High cost features at a low cost!
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: This is one of the best AP's I've used. No other AP at this price can do the things this one can do. It's 3 types of AP/client, Bridge, Bridge WDS & Repeater. We have 3 in service now and plan to add 5 more. They are stable, I haven't had a lockup yet. It's better than a wireless card when in client mode. I have mine in the attic using a ...

The only wireless device you need, seriously.
Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week Pros: FLEXIBLE : WDS, Universal Repeater, Station, AP, Bridging...this thing does IT ALL, with a very wide range of security options to boot and plenty of power and sensitivity to boot.
Cons: A lesser known brand.
Other Thoughts: I use this device everywhere. I've used a number of Edimax devices, and this is easily the best yet. I am bridging a wire...

In one word, EASY
Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: less than 1 day This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: It took me longer to screw the antenna and plug its cables in than it took to connect all my wireless devices to this AP. Literally 10 minutes after I opened the package, I had my laptop (with connection-fussy Vista), Nintendo Wii, and Sony PS3 all connected without problem, with 100% signal between the house's floors.
I love it when t...

Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: Many configuration options.
Cons: Dropped connections left and right, several times in as many hours or less. No problem re-establishing the connection but c'mon. Throughput was abysmal. Or rather consistancy of throughput ... yes I'd get up to 600Kbps but it'd frequently drop to 12Bps (notice BYTES not Kilobytes) and hover ...

Diamond in the dust
Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month Pros: I am still astonished at what it can do. And I am still learning more. However you want to set it up, it will just do it. I never knew about Edimax before. I took the plunge by reading the comment from one user that seemed to know about the technical details which entails what I want to do. No regret.
Cons: Wish they come with a beefier adapter so that power can be cranked up t...

works great with xbox
Tech Level: average Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: When set up properly, this thing works great as an access point for an xbox or a device that is not wireless and too far away for a cat 5 connection.
Cons: I always thought an access point was to connect a non wireless device to a wireless network but the main purpose is actually to create a wireless network with a wired router but that was ...

Excellent multi-purpose unit
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: Excellent feature set, rock-solid reliability.
Cons: Not 802.11n. Configuration is for power users, you get enough rope to hang yourself.
Other Thoughts: I have 3 of these to bridge the islands of wired network in my 1980's house. Once correctly configured, they have worked flawlessly for over 6 months without a ...

Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: Good little(literally) AP. Price is fantastic. With $5 rebate, even better. I'm glad I didn't pay double for the same thing offered by other brands. Edimax seems to be a solid company.
Cons: probably need a little more updated "manual" in the box...but you can find info if you need/want it. Signal is...

Many functions
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: Has three functions that i've come to realize it can do 1.) You can plug a network cable to it and use as an access point and give wireless to a wired connection 2.) You can set it up in universal repeater mode and it will take an existing wireless signal and "repeat" it meaning if you have dead spots in your house you can use this device t...

Works with Dish Network DVR 722
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: Got my Dish Network DVR online cheaply! I used my PC to configure the Edimax for "station mode" then took it downstairs and plugged my DVR (722) into it. Now the DVR is online.
Cons: Wall-wart power supply. I understand the technical reason for building it this way, but I still hate wall-warts. At least put the transformer i...
