Clean design, Great gameplay, Lots of potential growth!

Wii is Golden
I was eager, as so many others, to try out the Wiimote and Nunchuck in gameplay, but I questioned its effectiveness and its role in games. So far, the Wii has easily gone far beyond my expectations. I just picked up a Wii yesterday along with Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and I love both! I have not owned a game console since the days of original Nintendo and Atari. I felt very left out by the game clearly designed for either young children or obsessive young males willing to spend 8 hours on a couch twitching their thumbs. Wii is an excellent call this holiday season
A bit of disclosure- I was excited about the Wii before I played one. I was camped outside Target all night to ensure that I got one on launch day. So I was All About The Wii.
I'm here to say that my expectations were met.
One, the bundled Wii Sports was a great move by Nintendo. It may not be as deep as other games, but I've spent a fair amount of time playing tennis and boxing and such things. And it makes for a fun party game; my brothers and I enjoyed 4-player games...

Wow, very impressed
My wife and I purchased this console almost completely because of Wii Sports, watching the videos of people. It looked so different and so fun that we decided to give it a shot.
My wife does not play video games, she knows I like them, but has very poor hand-eye coordination and is horrible at video games. Everyone in my family plays it!
I am not an avid gamer, though I usually feel the need to buy the newest electronic gadget on the market, this case being the wii which I had been waiting for over a year. The wii's controls are excellent, and depending on the game you may have to stand up (a lot of the games on Rayman require standing for the best aim, and it would be pretty hard to sit and play tennis).
