Excellent SMB Appliance

Pros: Outstanding device especially for the price. It will handle most any SOHO solution in this configuration. Only gave it a 4 because it did not ship with the latest update.
Cons: The DMZ that comes with this license is "Restricted". Short version is that it will allow for 3 vlans, inside, outside and dmz, but does not allow traffic from inside to DMZ, easily.

Pros: So far soooo great...Naturally this is a cisco product so you need to know what you are doing or have a lot of time to work with it if you have never work with an advanced cisco product. Pros: This is primarily designed for small business and employees who telecommute. It supports most of the advanced features of Cisco's enterprise firewalls, but at a price and form factor to fit on an average desk (even with built-in switch!). The performance of this unit will be more than most need. Extremely flexible and configurable.

Cisco ASA 5505 Security Applicance 50 for VPN Networks
The first unit I received was a refurb or return. Cisco refused to activate a SmartNET agreement because the unit was already under contract. Amazon promptly shipped a new unit that was eligible for SmartNET.
Reviews for the other bundles indicate that Amazon is not an authorized Cisco reseller and therefore Cisco won't activate a SmartNET contract for product purchased through Amazon. I had no trouble activating a contract once the replacement unit was received.

Great Firewall!

Pros: 1st - Cisco Support - 90days free - Call with Serial number and they will help configure it.
2nd - Very solid box and feature set, need to upgrade to latest IOS and ASDM code within 90days if you want the best bang for the buck.
3rd - VPN Client free with Firewall - no $$$ per user for VPN Clients
4th - Great ASDM GUI interface can do almost everything in the GUI vs. CLI (Command Line In...
