So far so great!
I've had this TV for about 6 months now and it's been great. Great picture with DVDs and HDTV. If you don't plan on using this primarily for DVDs or HD, then you won't be as impressed with the picture. It really does depend on the source and the connections you use. My neighbor sells home theater equipment for a living, he recommended this TV for it's picture, and so far I agree with him. Good as it gets!
This Toshiba projection TV was the best that I found. Nice picture and great sound. The TouchFocus set the conversion just right. It has plenty of inputs of different types. I was a little surprised that it had no digital audio inputs however. I would have expected to find an optical audio or coaxial audio input. Toshiba all the way
I decided to take the plundge into HDTV world and found myself knee deep with many different choices. After weeks and many long hours of research, I came across the Toshiba 57H84. And let me tell you it was hands down the best value for the money, which blew away the competion with stunning picture clarity and connectivity option's. In other words simply Amazing!!!!

Delivery and Defect Problems Resolved
I ordered this product on Febr. 24th and it was delivered to my home on March 2nd. The TV was unpackaged in the truck and carried just into the door of my home. It was not turned on and inspected as promised in the Amazon shipping information. My son signed for the delivery as I was out of town. Upon my return, I noticed there had been delivery damage. Very pleased with product and Amazon.com
After careful research and looking at many large screen tv's, we ordered the Toshiba 57H84 HD-Ready Rear-Projection TV with HDMI Input. This tv has the best picture of any we looked at. Amazon.com was very easy to deal with and had speedy delivery with a very curtious and helpful delivery company. I ordered on a Thursday and was delivered the following Tuesday.

Disapponted with shipping times
I am very much pleased with the quality of the product. The price was a very competive one, the shipping quote was reasonable. I do however have a problem with the (11)days its gonna take to get to my address. I ordered the item on the 3rd of September, and according to the delivery company affiliated with Amazon(Eagle Delivery) its not gonna arrive until the 14th. disappointed
this product is getting returned right now due to a defect. amazon did nothing for me with regards to my problem and toshiba took weeks to get things straight. now they are coming to pick up my tv because i was given the ultimadum of a refurb or a refund. i chose the refund. tomorrow is the 19th of september and i purchase the tv on the 19th of august. i never got to watch a program on my tv and i will be glad to be done with the whole situation.

Best Value for the Price
I bought this TV from a local electronics store. Seeing as it is a 2004 model, the salesman gave me a GREAT deal. About $600 less than I've seen it online. For the money, it can't be beat. The picture quality is very good, especially with Discovery HD Theater and my Xbox 360. Setup was easy, plenty of inputs for all my electronics. Really, the only complaint I have is that the remote with the TV doesn't work with my DirecTV HD Receiver, and the DirecTV remote doesn't have codes for the TV....

Great picture, but only for 4 years
We purchased this tv locally and have been very happy with the picture, the sound, the ease of use. Now, 4 short years later, the tv is green and turns off on its own. We had 2 previouse Toshiba's that lasted 16 and 17 years and were a quarter of the price. I would expect the tv to last longer considering what we paid for it.
