Very good TV with one caveat
I just purchased this TV and I am very happy with it. The picture quality is remarkable with very good resolution and display. However, there is one thing you should be aware of before buying this TV. THIS IS NOT AN ACTUAL HDTV. Although it's advertised as having a selectable 16:9 widescreen ratio (great for watching DVDs) which allows you to view an HD image, it doesn't accept the standard 1080i or 720p HD signals. Calibration Test Results - Excellent Performance
Here are the calibration test results and the post-calibration TV control settings, using the Video Essentials calibration DVD and a Sony DVD player connected to the S-video input:
- Contrast setting = 50; Brightness setting = 29; Sharpness setting = 0;
- Color = 32; Tint = 0 (these factory settings were correct);
- Geometry is excellent; no visible distortion; over-scan = 5% (excellent);
- No video noise
The only disappointment - and this is a quibble for a TV at...
