Awesome TV, a perfect first HDTV
After hearing about this great TV from a Co-worker, I had to get one myself. The current price at $879 here at Amazon with free shipping makes this the best TV at the this price on the market. Sure, it's only a 720p, but it looks great to me. This is my first HDTV, and I am very satisified. I know I ignore some bad reviews when I'm looking - hopefully you won't
I bought a similar Samsung set in January of this year and had a problem with it within the first month and a half (unfortunately I had bought it before moving to a new house and didn't set it up until we were settled in, my mistake and at that point it couldn't be returned). The picture is "grainy" (for lack of a better term, it's actually grainy/sparkly/generally terrible looking) on all sources. Rear Projection IS NOT DEAD!!!
I received my HLT5075S yesterday and right out of the box I was impressed. Set up took less than 5 minutes and before I could finish a cup of coffee I was watching my new TV. I made the necessary adjustments on my DirecTV box but was disappointed at the lack of clarity due to the SD broadcast (HD box in the mail). My set is perfect, fortunately.
I have had a similar 50" Samsung DLP HDTV set for two years. It cost me $3,000 and was a good price at that time. I bought an extended warrantee because I wanted to take no chances. I haven't needed the warrantee or any kind of service. It was a little challenging learning about the set's adjustments, but I expected, and got, the best picture I ever imagined! great tv for the price
This tv is great in everyway just like other reviewers have stated. The reason i gave it 4 stars was because when i got mine, it kept shutting itself off because it was overheating. I checked the exhaust vents on the lamp and noticed the vents were not in place and somehow got disconnected from the manufactur. This is not amazons fault and it is samsungs fault. I reconnected everything and the tv runs perfect with no overheating problems now. Xbox 360 looks awesome on this tv.

Almost Perfect
TV arrived a week ago...it was a snap to set up and everything looks great.
Two easy/ minor gripes:
Shipping company said that they would call me an hour before they planned to deliver so I could make sure to be home...they forgot. Luckly someone was home to take delivery.
