Beautiful picture, simple to use
Shipped on time, with delivery into the house. No damage, the driver helped to open it so I could inspect it before signing off on it. The television has a beautiful picture, especially when coupled with an HD signal. The picture is bright, but can be turned down through the on screen controls. The TV remembers the settings for each video input. There are seven video inputs that can be selected. The labels are well marked. This TV Rocks!
We reviewed the other (nearly identical) model on our show in March and I liked it so much I decided to buy one. Buy.com had the best price, that's why the review is also posted here. Outstanding Field of View and Clarity
I have watched this set for a little over a year -- two football seasons. Yet to find a rear projection set that matches the field of view. That includes months of searching before purchase and continued showroom visits since the purchase date. You can watch from either side of the set and not notice the blackening effect of most RP TV's. Plan on a surround sound system for this size screen for full enjoyment. Great Deal, Great TV
I am very happy with this purchase, I looked around at other vendors and found that the price was at lease $700.00 cheaper then the lowest price I could find. The TV has a great picture and lots of features, Still reading to understand all.

Get this television
Great looking and an excellent performer. The picture when I use my ps3 is unbelievable. I wish when you use the HDMI input that the pass-thru audio feature worked. The television takes a few seconds for the television to come on, and there is a cool swipe feature where the screen blacks out from the top to the bottom. The picture is great,and you couldn't ask for a better sounding television. Buy this unit if you want to be floored with the high quality of it's reproduction.

Huge TV. I'm no technophile, but it's a nice TV. Picture is clear, colors good. Delivery through the freight company was smooth. I haven't been able to view it on HD yet, but my brother has the TV also and says it's awesome. A few things I would change - it takes a longer time to switch between TV and other video channels than other TVs I've had, a second or two - not instantaneous. OVERALL GREAT TV
OTHER THAN A FEW OPERATIONAL ISSUES THIS IS A VERY GOOD PRODUCT.
IT TAKES A WHILE TO GET USED TO THE SIZE, AND THE PICTURE FROM STANDARD ANALOG CABLE IS QUESTIONABLE, BUT THE PICTURE FROM MY UPCONVERT 1080P PIONEER DVD IS EXCELLENT.

Recently Purchased JVC 61FH97 REAR PROJ. TV
I've had the JVC for about two weeks now. It's working fine, and I'm really impressed by the image it gives me, the menu setup/structure is easy to use, oh, and the speakers do put out alot of sound. The delivery experience was great also (UPS freight). The tv was delivered within six business days. A very nice unit and a great buying experience form Buy.com

You can't beat this price.
I had researched different types of HDTV systems out there, and LCOS stuck out the most compared to most other DLP and LCD projection TV's. LCOS, as you probably already know, is the same engine running in those insane Sony SXRD televisions that would cost you a fortune for the picture quality. This JVC gives you that type of quality at a way better price. If you're a gamer, this TV rocks, but I would definitely suggest adding surround sound with this TV to get the full effect. Great TV for HD
I recently bought this TV. I was somewhat disappointed with the PQ for SD (comparable to my 35" CRT), but with a HD input this TV is as good as I've seen. It definitely is worth the price paid as the PQ is as good as TVs costing 2 to 3X as much. Colors look great and the picture is very sharp. My only (minor) gripes are 1) slow changes of inputs, 2) could use another component input or 2, and the operating manual is weak (although they have a good telephone support).
