Great Picture for the Price
I found the TV around which to build our new den.
Stores never seem to set up HDTVs properly and do not do them justice. They usually have standard signals that are split to many TVs. The pictures are not true HDTV or the video is highly compressed causing a lot of pixelation (cartoonish squares).
The Phillips looks absolutely fantastic when the component cables are used with Progressive Scan DVDs and HDTV broadcast signals.

Spent $1800 bucks - only lasted 1.5 years
We bought this HDTV only to have it break after just a year and a half! It had some minor problems with the video output during that year and a half, but yesterday we were watching it and it suddenly started smoking and the screen went black. It only has a one year warranty. We tried calling Phillips tech support. They couldn't tell us what happened, how to fix it, what the 4 blinking red lights meant or any sort of helpful information!

Plasma TV
Now that I have it plugged in and on the table where I can enjoy my tv it's great. The color is real nice but for other people who buy this item or any 42" tv MAKE SURE you have someone to help you take it out of the box and help you set it up. Beutiful Display
I love this TV - using regular cable analog box the display is beutiful and I have not even used the HDMI or component hook up yet. My childs gamecube display using standard composite hookup is so clear - I cannot believe that it will get better using high def inputs !!!

Great Picture, OK Remote
The picture on this TV is great. I use an S-Video input off of a splitter that resulted in a grainy picture on my last tv. With the Philips Pixel Plus, however, my picture looks great! Upgrading the firmware via USB was easy and definitely a plus. The inputs and buttons are also in easily accessible locations (even when mounted on my wall). My only complaint is the remote...there are buttons for other devices (DVD, etc.) but according to the manual they can only be used with other Philips d...

Great quality, Great Price
I bought this TV about 5 months ago and I am very satisfied with it. Very bright, very crisp pictures. Built in HDTV tuner also helps, I was able to get HDTV channels by just getting an indoor antenna.
The only downside is that the remote control can be improved. The buttons are very hard to press.

Let me convince you why you should NOT buy a Philips
I purchased this plasma for my father to give to him for Christmas 2006. By Christmas 2007 I had to buy him a new one. First - notice how all the positive reviews comment on this plasma after owning it for only a few weeks? Check back with them now and see if they feel the same way!
This is a great plasma for the first few months, but after that the problems begin. The sound started going out on the set. No big deal, or so we thought, since we just turned the set off and then back on...

BEWARE of TECH FOR LESS!!!!!
I ordered one of these Tvs for my Niece from Tech for Less. It arrived with numerous electrical problems. There was no shipping damage, they shipped a defective TV and they knew it.
Be VERY careful if you plan to purcahse anything from Tech for Less.
