Great scanner, terrible support
This scanner uses LEDs as a light source and so has zero warm-up time. The paper feeding system is very fast and and handles irregular sheets and ragged corners with no trouble. The scanner itself beats the HP 5550C I've been using.
Epson's scanner interface is not to my taste but has presets for office and graphic professional scanning needs. What keeps it from getting highest marks is the abysmal customer service.
I couldn't get the twain driver to work under Windows Vist...

Fast
I opened it, inserted the CD into my Mac Quicksilver G4 Dual 1GHz, spent the next 6 minutes installing unbelievable amounts of software (been a while since I owned an Epson, I guess I forgot how much there is, though I believe my HP stuff is bloated too) and removing unbelievable amounts of green immobilizing tape. It's light, as I expected. Connection was a cinch, and the software recognized immediately. In the OFFICE MODE, it took one document, a stack of 12 of various types (B&W & Color ...

Easy, accurate, and functional
We have been using this unit in the office for a couple of months now and have had no problems whatsoever.
The ABBYY Software is the best I have ever used for OCR and PDFs and conversion of one to the other. The ADF has worked flawlessly.
Having only had it for a couple of months, I can't comment on the long-term quality of the hardware, but so far we have had no problems and the software has worked well with it.

Not really ready for the office
I was looking for a scanner to allow me to bring my trusty ScanSnap S510M Instant PDF Sheet-Fed Scanner home from the office. A scanner offering 20ppm scanning with a 40 document auto-feeder and a name like Workforce seemed to fit the bill.
Unfortunately I will be using this scanner at home and keeping my Snapscan at the office. What happened?
Well the major thing that happened is the interface. A scanner may print at 20 pages per minute, but if you have to spend a couple o...

Excellent scanner
This is an excellent scanner that has performed very well for me since I've had it. The best feature for me is definitely the Automatic Document Feeder. It's really nice to be able to scan multi-page documents in one fell swoop, instead of scanning them one page at a time like I've been doing with my Canon MFP. The most pages I've scanned at one time so far is 33, and the ADF worked like a charm. (Note: The ADF is meant for text documents only; if you're thinking you can scan stacks of photos wi...

Incompatible if you use another 3 in1-works great hooked up on a laptop not linked to the 3-1 Brother printer I have
Update: I have finally installed this product attached to an old laptop and I must say it scans beautifully. I cannot change the number of stars I originally gave to the Epson, but if I could, I would now raise it to 4 stars (****) -- I still have to fault them on their truly befuddling written instructions.
I already have a Brother 3 in 1 unit (scanner, fax, color printer with cordless phone & answer machine) and I could not get the Epson GT-1500 to work unless because I apparently...

Excellent Scanning Solution for Business/Workgroup or Home Use
As a previous owner of a Neat Receipts scanner, I had no doubts in my mind that the GT-1500 would perform for what I needed. This scanner cannot compare to a Neat Receipts product in terms of mobility, but in terms of speed and production this is a winner.
Installation was straight-forward and simple, although it took a couple of extra minutes (likely because of the extra software included). But afterward, I was able to scan with the snap of a finger. The speed on this machine is...

Very impressed, very professional!
My family and I are restoring our old family home, so I needed a scanner for receipts, photos, bills, and keeping track of numerous other pieces of paperwork. After the very easy set up of this Epson, I have been scanning everything under the sun and I'm extremely happy with it. I've had only one scanner previously, and this Epson has much better resolution, a much easier scan process, and much more functionality in working with the many old photos that we have, and wish to keep.

Works Like A Dream--a High-Resolution Dream!
We've previously gone the all-in-one machine route, so we never knew what we were missing not having a stand-alone until we met the Epson WorkForce GT-1500 Document Imaging Scanner. The Epson WorkForce is a real WorkHorse, with a high-capacity delivery of up to 20 ppm and a super-vivid 1200 x 2400 dpi resolution.
It offers one-touch scanning with buttons devoted to e-mail and pdf functions and the included software features the easy-to-use ScanSoft PaperPort and ABBYY FineReader. ...

Great Scanner with ADF
I've had scanners before but this is the first with the ADF, it's great! Depending on your selection of DPI setting, it can be fast or slow. I've been scanning all of my bills, etc. just to reduce the number of paper documents laying around in storage. Well worth it. I even use it for scanning receipes, instructions on tools, dryer, etc. I can always find my documents on my computer but PLEASE be sure to back up your system! Well worth the money.
