Slower connection when used;
While the packaging and form suggest performance, I am not at all satisfied with the product or its customer support. When my computer is plugged directly into the router (Dlink DIR-655), the connection is perfect. When I place the DES-1105 between the router and computer, the "100Mbps" blinks slowly and regularly, and my connection speed is like dial up. I can no longer access my networked computers. Nice starter switch
What's great about it: price, simplicity
What's not so great: speed
"If your looking for a simple expansion of your home network, or even give yourself an extra port to connect a computer at work, this switch is a good little starter. Just plug in and go. I run one of these at work and it does the job letting me add two more computers (shhhhh) at my desk."

Excellent performance as good price
I recommend this product. It has an excellent performance and works with no problems. If you are considering on buying a good priced switch and don't need more than 5 ports, this is the way to go!!!

Xlt Performance at a value price
I Bought this at Fry's for under $20. and it works great I have my slingbox, Directv DVR and Xbox connected to it and all work great with no lag I have a cable modem (6MBPS D/L 512KBPS U/l )and a wireless router connected in font of it it is an excellent product

Cost effective solution
I found this product very easy to deploy. It enabled the sharing of a single ethernet port between my desktop and laptop computers, at a very good price point.

Pros: smart switching all around. I have held LAN parties in my garage using this switch and I can attest that it works really well. Ping times for every gamer are decent when Im using FIOS at 20/5.
Cons: none for the price

Good switch
I had no problems installing and using this switch. I have a wired network in my home and needed to expand ports in my living room. I had used an earlier switch from D-link in my office upstairs and it worked fine so I decided to use D-link again. I would recommend this product for wired network users. Wireless may be quick and easy but wired is secure.

Works even with complicated connection
Bought one of these for under $15. I have a powerline Ethernet adapter connected to my router. On the other end of the second powerline adapter (which uses your house electrical wiring), I connected this switch. To the switch, I connected my DirecTV DVR and also an Ethernet to USB adapter to connect to my series 2 TiVo (which only has a USB connection). Everything works perfectly. No configuration needed (obviously, couldn't do it when connecting to non-computer devices). It just works. ...
