great keyboard

This is a great keyboard and mouse. The keys feel terrific. There are 2 drawbacks. The most annoying is the lack of a light notifying of caps lock. This is such a simple thing and causes a lot of grief especially typing passwords. The other is the lack of range. The receiver must be within 18-24 inches.

OK for desktop use, but NOT for home theater

I ordered this keyboard & mouse to use with a Media Center PC connected to an HDTV. It turns out that it is a 27 Mhz, short range wireless system that only has a usable range of about 2 to 3 feet from the USB receiver. This is fine for a desktop setup (it comes with a 5 foot USB extension cable for relocating the USB receiver closer to your work area), but using them 10 to 15 feet from the computer would only be possible by remoting the receiver (with a long USB cable) to the location you want...

Unreliable mouse

I wore out the previous Kensington set I had - a PilotBoard Laser Wireless set. It performed very well, but I use my keyboard/mouse 10 hours a day, 5-6 days a week, and tend to pound the keys. The enter key just gave up the ghost. So, I went looking for another set. One main reason I ended up buying a Kensington set last time was that it provided both Mac & Windows keys & drivers, and it worked well with my DVI/USB KVM switch, so I go back to Kensington again thinking I'd just get another one...
