Watch out! Isn't compatible with all printers
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: Interface and setup looks nice.
Cons: Worked for an hour on this puppy, finally called support (who didn't read from a playlist, which is pleasant) to find out my canon multifunction printer isn't compatible. OK, so i figure i must have missed a compatibility list somewhere and this is my fault. WRONG, there isn't one!...

Does NOT wake up printer in standby
I contacted their tech support and they said it will not wake up a sleeping printer. For that reason alone I will not use it. Otherwise, it is very small and useful.

Tech Level: Ownership: This user purchased this item from Newegg Comments: The print server worked as advertised. I am now sharing an Epson Stylus Photo printer between an iMac (wired) running Max OS 10.3.9 and a Dell Laptop (wireless) running Windows XP Pro through a D-Link router. The default IP address of the print server is the same as that of the router, so you need to change one to avoid conflicts. Seems to be working fine for prin...

Works with some printers
This version works with my Canon PIXMA iP6000D printer, but will not wake it up if it is in powersave mode. The setup went much better than my old NetGear print server, so I bought another one (the TE100-P1U - newer model) for my HP LaserJet 1020. Alas, these print servers do not support the HP LJ 1020. And you cannot find that out on TrendNet's website; you have to call their Tech Support to see if your printer is supported. The server itself is 4 stars; the support is 2 stars.

Finally, a print server that really works
This little guy really works!!! Set up is painless, the manual is well written. It appears trendware put some effort in making the manual accurate and easy to follow. I can't say the same for most of the other mfg's and i've tried just about all of them. If your looking for a usb print server, I highly recomend this one.

Best of Home/Small Office Networks
Very simple to setup: I used the include PSAdmin utility and configured it in less than 5 minutes. I assigned it a static IP so I can make changes using a web browser on any station on my network.
On Windows 98/ME stations I add it as a network printer with path:[\\(print server name)\(port name)]; on Windows XP/2000, an IP port would do. Another convenient feature is that I can capture LPT1's to this path so my old DOS accounting system can print to the printer connected via this print server...

Decent Print Server For The Price
This compact little print server seems adequate and I've no complaints thus far except for the manual. It's worded correctly and the grammar is surprisingly good, for a change, and even the pictures and diagrams are helpful. However the instructions are flawed and I'm not sure how you could set up a printer via the method they describe. To save you some effort, if you're pulling your hair out with your 'P1U, instead of adding a printer as a "Network Printer", try this...

Don't buy it.
Bought the TE100-P1U during black friday sale. I tried setting up to use with my HP LaserJet 1020 printer. I went through the setup and I could not get the TE100-P1U to recognize the HP printer.
The 24 Customer Support sucks. My first call to them was put on hold for 30 minutes and when they answered, they took my name and number and said they will call me back. Never did. I called them again the next day and the same thing happened. On the third day, I called them again and waited the usu...

Works, but very slow to start printing
Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year Pros: This is a very small unit and works OK with my desktop, Linksys wireless router, laptop an HPDeskjet 990CSE. (The 990CSE is only a printer.)
Cons: It is 90 seconds or more after clicking PRINT before anything apparent happens. My printer starts within 5 seconds when connected directly to my desktop. This printserver is so slow to start, that I now usually connect it dire...

Good Performance and Value!
This small device does what Trendware/TrendNet says it does. Setup was smoother than I anticipated and the performance of the printer is not slowed...as best as I can judge. I've got an HP Desk Jet 6122. It's a quick printer that also duplexes (two-sided printing). It supports USB2 or Parallel ports. I've got no functional problems at all.
I was concerned that there would be a noticeable slowdown due to the downshift to USB 1.1 service. However, the print jobs seem to start quicker and th...
