Great PSU
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year Pros: 34A max on the 12v rails, and 80 PLUS certified. Easily powers my e6600 system with an 8800GTS. Built by Se@sonic, a quality manufacturer.
Cons: Lackluster looks, but that's not what you buy a PSU for anyway.
Other Thoughts: After my experience with this unit, I highly recommend these 80 PLUS certified PSUs. I noticed the wattage reading on my killawatt g...

Quiet, efficient, easy to install and perfect fit.
This unit has very generous cable length and plenty of SATA power connectors. It fit perfectly in my HP case. It is currently powering an Intel Quad Core Q6600 CPU NVidia 8800GTS 320Mb video card factory overclocked 3Gb RAM 500Gb Hard disk 80Gb 2ndhard disk and DVD burner. So far it has been quiet and reliable. This power supply is close to 85 efficient compared to 70 of cheaper units which makes it cooler quieter and use less power Ive been able to verify the cooler and quieter part so far. If ...

awesome
High-efficiency EPS12V connector and two 2x3 PCI-e power-connectors. Many other power-supplies in the same watt-range only have 1 PCI-e connector and many dont have the EPS12V 2x4 connector.brbrUnfortunately the small-fan 80mm gets noisy when youput heavy-load 400w on the unit. If youre going to run a heavy-duty rig with high-wattage needs youre better off with a Antec TruePowerTrio or other-brand power-supply with a larger 120mm bottom-mounted fan.

Good basic 80+ PSU
Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year Pros: 80+ certified means it's very efficient, generates less heat. Very quiet, but not totally silent.
Cons: As another user pointed out, perhaps some right-angle plugs would be nice. They would've helped in my P180b build.
Other Thoughts: Wish it had modular cabling, but that's what the NeoHE series is for.

EA500 Review
Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: While it was working it powered my desktop.
Cons: It stopped working after 8 months powering my desktop. The specs are 2 HDD, 1 Optical Drive, 8800GT GPU and a Q6600 quad core cpu. I don't think that should be a challenge for a well built power supply but one night it just stopped working. I removed it and noticed that the...

Quiet, solid but pricey
You can get power supplies with this output for a lot less but this has some features that may appeal to some buyers. Its super energy efficient 80 plus certified so has few fans and is virtulally silent until you pull some load heavy graphics or harddrive or optical drive. Supposedly will pay for itself over time with energy savings. But doesnt quite fit my case despite being ATX because power plug in the way of case flang. Not a deal breaker. You can still use it. But not flush as most would l...

Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: High Effeciency a plus,, provided it works
Cons: After many discussions with Gigabyte about MB Posting and no graphics, as well a replacement MB and Processor, Gigabyte said only thing that could be wrong is PSU. They were right and who would have thought PSU would be the problem. I don't appreciate this kind of problem with a new build,...

Steer clear of the ea500D
Tech Level: average Ownership: 1 month to 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: Still works, kind of.
Cons: I will be replacing in January, when I can afford it. I hope it lasts until then.
Other Thoughts: Why are so many people finding fault with reviews that tell the truth about this product? Don't buy this power supply people. Chances are, it will give you trouble.

Using with an UPS backup?
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month Pros: Power output and cabling as advertised.
Cons: Consider using something other than the Antec Earthwatts series if you want your UPS to keep it running. I have this 500w PSU that came with an Antec case. Testing soon showed that the UPS shuts down abruptly whenever the UPS switches over. UPS is well sized for the job. Responses from my queries to Antec tell me that the Earthwatts series...
