My purchase of the PS3 60GB came on the day of price drop, after weeks of research into the "Console Wars". In the time since I've been incredibly impressed with the quality of this unit. It performs exactly how other reviewers here have described.

Where to start.....the PS3 is an engineering masterpiece. There are so many reasons why you should upgrade from the PS2 to PS3. My main motivating factors were Blu-Ray (high-definition video) functionality, Bluetooth wireless controllers (better range and response), internal wireless (for online game-play and updates), HDMI 1.3 output with 1080p output, optical audio, and card slots for loading music, pictures, and video onto the massive 60GB hardrive. PS3 Exceeds Expectations
After months of mulling it over, I decided to go with a PS3 over an XBox 360 or a Nintendo Wii. The reasons that I did so were as follows:

Some problems, but a great console overall
Fun: People always talk about how expensive the PS3 is, but if you plan on watching high-def movies, the PS3 is the better deal. The 60GB PS3 has a Blu-Ray player built-in and costs $499.99. The 20GB HDMI 360 plus the 360 HD DVD player costs $529.98.
After my boyfriend's 360 got the RROD, I decided I didn't trust Microsoft enough to invest in an Xbox (even with its supposedly improved heat relief).
Honestly, I don't think there's that big of a disc...

Cheap and Unbelieveably Fun BD Player
Most of my friends have been trying to persuade me to buy an Xbox 360 so long that I stayed away from the PS3 for a while. Its like having my own little super nova in the middle of my living room
