Great Plasma
After a long process I decided on the New Samsung 58 Plasma HDTV. I compared it to many including the Panasonic which was 900.00 higher.. The Samsung had a much clearer picture darker blacks and brighter whites.. This set compares to the Pioneer Elite but for a third the price. I got it at Circuit City for 2785.00 with a 10 discount after there already low internet frice of 3049.00 .. but you need to call and order they tend to give you a better discount if you talk to a live operator.

Overall very pleased
I've had the PN58A550 FOR about a month now and overall I am very pleased.
Positive: The value is very good on this TV. The picture quality is great. Setup option are more extenisive than most TV's. You can really dial in everything about the picture using regular menus. The overall finish on the TV is really nice. It has a piano gloss finish on the frame and stand that look really sharp. Samsung TV's used to have some of the worst menus ever but the one on this TV is really very...

Amazing picture quality, great price, many features
I was initially attracted to this TV for its amazing picture quality size and fair price. Then when I took it home I completely fell in love with it. This TV has many easy to use options settings and features to completely customize your viewing experience for each input. When its connected to a true High Definition source the images are unbelievably crystal clear. The black values are excellent the white values are very bright. And with features like burn in protection and energy saver youre su...

Spectacular Television
Though not "cheap", I am amazed that a TV of this quality can be purchased for the price it's being offered at.
I'm lucky: my experience was near flawless with the delivery of this television.
It arrived when they said it would, and it was carefully unboxed, plugged in to make sure that it was working and then away the delivery men went. At first I asked that they take the box with them, but one of them wisely (or lazily... I think the former) suggested that I keep the bo...

I'll may never leave the house.
But seriously this tv is amazing. After looking at a bunch of brands I determined that Samsung was that best tv quality features vs cost at this time. I choose the 550 over the 650 because its the same tv but the extra bells and whistles wasnt anything Im interested in red trim one additional HDMI port. I gave the sound 5 stars because its pretty good sound coming from a plasma. For standard tv watching the sound works but once you pop in a movie or play a music game like Rock Band youll notice...

1.3v hdmi output, outstanding
debated between 58 panni or this unit. love both units but cost $500 less and the ability to do more fine tuning sent me home with the sammy. this unit has the updated version of the hdmi 1.3v and to be honest its all most over saturated in colorbut more is always better then less. never before on my other plasmas 50 5084 sammy and 50 600 panni have i had to scale down the color to 30. cell lamp adjustment is a nice touch for brighter pictures and this new model doesnt seem to run as warm a...

Awesome!!!
Hi guys I generally do not write reviews but this is such a new TV without many reviews in the public domain and so decided to put my two cents; 1. Why plasma not LCD...well, plasmas, are cheaper once you are in the post 50" realm. Past 50", plasmas rule when it comes to price. They are also not limited by 60/120 Hz. cycling issues like the LCDs (remember we never had a "triple ball" effect with our old CRT based TVs, that we have used for the past 50 years; well, plasmas are an extens...

Loved this purchase for the first 6 months until...........
I purchased this model 7 months ago and loved it!!! the colors and detailing of High def channels and blu ray movies wereare astounding. The sound from the tv speakers could be improved upon but not bad. The problem arose when I started to notice some burn in on the sides of the picture where the blank screen is when watching 43 ratio programing. Even though I have used every precaution with pixel shifting watching an even amount of 169 to 43 ratio other Tv settings and using the Anti-burn in pr...

Great Plasma
I looked and researched plasmas forever. And yes I was dead set on the Panasonic 58 inch. I then compared both units side by side CC and both plasmas looked identical. The only difference one costs much less. This for sure is the best plasma on themarket right now. Because of the size picture quality and most importantly the price you can get it for.br Color is unbelievable and the blacks are pretty darn deep. We ordered Bee Movie the other night on time warner in high def and we were ...

Couldn't be happier!
After 6 months of looking and comparing I decided on either the Samsung 52" series 550 LCD or this 58" series 550 plasma. I finally decided that size DID matter. Boy am I happy! The pix is fantastic, color and blacks are superb, according to the instructions (and reviews) it takes up to 2 hours of static pixels to have a threat of burn in (which I never foresee) so I couldn't be happier. Some have written about the sound, but my family can't find anything to complain about. When we watch someth...
