Great TV for the price!
I received this TV last week and so far it has been AWESOME! I would have given it 5 stars but the sound quality is a little muffled. It doesn't bother us much since we plan on hooking up a surround sound system but if you are using the TV's speakers exclusively, you may want to reconsider. Samsung PN50B550 - Awesome TV
I researched a lot of TVs and narrowed it down to the Panasonic Viera 50" and the Samsung 50" Plasma. worth the wait
This is a great TV. I was torn between buying last years model the pn50a vs this years pn50b. I decided to get the newer one because its supposed to use half the energy. The pn50B is dramatically cooler to the touch, front and back than last years model.
Picture quality is amazing. The colors and clarity from blue ray and HD Comcast programming in my house is better than I have seen on most other HD TV's at the box stores.

Great, but still prone to burn in.
The Good:It is a great set for the money. You just can't touch a good 1080P 120-240Hz LCD or LED t.v. in this size for this price range. There are plenty of connections, although if you have a 50" t.v. you really just need one hdmi input and maybe an optical out if you need to run sound back to a decent receiver. The picture quality is amazing when watching Blu Ray movies or other 1080p sources.

GREAT TV, bad DELIVERY
I ordered this tv about a week ago. I received the PN50b550 which upon opening the box me and the CEVA delivery guys noticed about 6 different parts of the screen were broken. I refused the delivery on that Friday. I received my replacement today on Monday (which was nice because it was fast) But guess what happened when we opened the box this time?? Screen was broke in about 4 different parts. Refused the delivery. I havent had the chance to turn on this tv. The packaging is beyond horrible...

Pros: I am recieving another tv
Cons: I purchase this tv and upon arrival to my home the front screen was broken. I immediately returen the tv and called newegg. i just wanted them to overnight me another tv and they said they couldnt do it. Now i have to wait another 3-5days to get a new tv, The ad part is i took of work to wait for it.

No remote, no power cord, no owners manual.
Person delivered and unpacked. Nothing other than TV in box. He said it happens all the time and that Amazon would overnight me the missing stuff. I called Amazon and they said to refuse delivery. Samsung missed the boat here.

Lives up to my expectations
First the bad.
Like the other review, my first tv was delivered with a broken screen. Thankfully, the delivery guys were there and I didn't have to lug the thing around, they did. Follow-up with Amazon was good and the replacement was delivered in 5 days (weekend included).
Now the good.
The picture is incredible. I sit approx. 10 feet away from the screen and the picture is great. I don't have HD cable, so watching normal cable can be pretty ugly, but I'm getting used to ...

Outstanding, as expected
This is my first HDTV, but I did spend a good couple months shopping around and studying up on my features, pros/cons, etc... First of all the picture is beautiful, but hey, that's to be expected.
