great TV!!
We purchased this tv and the 58 and i must say--we are samsung fanatics!!! We also have samsung plasmas in our kids rooms and the picture on all of them is remarkable!! This particular tv 42 is being used in our basementgameroom and it is just whatwe needed--couldnt beat the price either online cheaper than in store--picked up in-store but got online price

Not to shabby at all
Got this tv on sale for 899.00 killer deal. My wife and I mounted it on the wall and I have to say Samsung has done it again. There tvs are by far the best on the market at this point. This tv looks 10 times better than our 40 bravia from sony. If you want a reliable tv with a great warranty check into Samsung before you buy anything else. You wont be dissapointed.

Wonderfully Surprised!
The unit has a spectacular crispness and unrivaled picture clarity. I was very hesitant about going Plasma and went that way only because of Samsungs reputation for quality. I am very glad that I did. The TV is easy to set up. Combined with a 1200 watt home theater system I feel like Im in a movie theater. I believe the other review has the picture size set to just fit which on some HD channels shows a white line along the left side of the picture. This TV has an outstanding picture and sleek look. Input options are plentiful for the hook up of mulitple media sources. The inhouse speakers provide good sound quality for normal usage but I would encourage installing a surround sound receiver and speakers if you want to enjoy higher quality listening. I was searching and searching to get a 42 inch either lcd or plasma for a few months that my wallet could afford but also that was a good tv not just a good buy. i got down to the vizio 720 and this samsung and i am so pleased with my choice to go with the samsung. We bought this tv for our bedroom we were replacing an old 36" crt. We got it on sale for $790 so we didn't expect much, but it turns out this is the new model with touch buttons, 3D, 3 HDMI ports. Best buy I've made in a long time.
Ive been researching Plasma and LCD TVs for serveral months now. I was going to buy a 42 LCD tv. I went to the store and the very helpfull rep showed me the difference between LCD and Plasma. If you watch alot of movies get Plasma. Im glad i did. Motion is fluid and lacks the blur that similarly priced LCDs are plauged with. Unless you want a 46 or higher there is no reason to go for 1080p. It would be a waste of money. Buy this TV and use the money you saved for a nice Blue Ray player or ups...

TV was the Best Choice for me!
I just bought this Samsung PN42A450 the other day and I am nothing but impressed so far. I ultimately narrowed my choice to the samsung 32a330 which is a 32 inch LCD or this 42 inch.
