Wow! What a picture!
This is just an incredible set, I can't rave about it enough! We did a ton of research on LCD Vs. Plasma and decided to go with Plasma because of the sharper picture quality and the fact that Plasma's are better at handling high speed images which comes in handy since I watch a lot of sports. Like other reviewers have mentioned, last years model was among the highest rated Plasma's out there and although the reviews are just starting to come in this set seems to have picked up where la...

Great TV and by far best bang for the buck!
Panasonic Viera TH-50PZ80U 50-inch 1080p Plasma HDTV
I've researched HDTVs for the past 3 weeks very intensely and shocked myself when I ended up with this Panasonic 50PZ80U. I told myself I would stay away from Plasma due to the stories of burn-in (image "burned" into the screen and faintly visible always, no matter what you are watching) and image retention (image is temporary "stuck" on the screen - slightly visible with anything you are watching, but fades after a short period of ...

Amazing Plasma for an Amazing Price!
My wife and I have been looking around for a new TV for a while we had a 47 rear projection Panasonic TV before and the quality was great on that but its started to show its age. I do play my Xbox 360 quite a bit so I was a little hesitant to go witha plasma as I know that LCDs are mostly for gaming or so many reviewers Ive read say boy am I glad I picked up this TV. Its got three 120mmmaybe 80mm fans on the back of it and only after hours of use does this TV start to get remotely warm. Thepict...

Definitely Recommend!
We looked at and compared many HDTV's before going with the Panasonic plasma. We compared LCD vs. Plasma and decided the plasma was the best way to go for us. The lives of these new plasmas have increased greatly from where they use to be. We have a den that has a couch 10' - 15' away from the corner TV area. We originally bought the 46" version of this plasma from Best Buy and the price for the 50" on Amazon was the same price plus we didn't have to pay shipping or tax. We ordered this on ...

Best TV I have ever owned! So much better than the LCD it replaced
Ladies & Gentlemen I strongly recommend this TV. I upgraded from an LCD originally was scared of plasma that I have owned for about one year. The LCD was very nice and a higher end model. BUT there is truely no contest for quality this plasma wins hands-down! Originally I was nervous about reflections on the screen especially considering that it went into a room with a vaulted ceiling and LOTS of natural light coming through to compromise viewability. But there is almost no glare at all it ...

We LOVE this TV!
We had been researching the 42 Sony 1080 plasma but saw an ad for this TVPanasonic 50 and loved it in the store. We did not have it professionally set-up and there are no regrets. The picture quality is awesome. We also purchased the Panasonic blu-ray home theater package so the sound quality is awesome! brbrOur family favorite is action movies. There is no blurring on the screen and the tv keeps up with the picture during high speed scenes. Factor in the surround sound and blu ray--its be...

Fantastic!!!
I was leaning towards LCD but after seeing this thing in person Im so glad I bought a plasma instead the picture is outstanding and this is from a guy that has always purchased lcd. This is my first plasma and now I cant go back to lcd. My ps3 looks amazing and my games look great. I cant believe it took me this long to see that plasmas just have better picture. For those of you on the fence on lcd or plasma I would surely pick plasma after taking this baby home. I got it for 1699 thats a great...

WOW!
Absolutely beautiful colors and depth when watching anything. Great value for the money. We did our homework and looked at many different models of both plasma & LCD. We have no issues with glare - the most common plasma complaint - in a room with 3 largewindows. Set up was easy and Direct Tv was out in just a few days to switch over the dish to get all the HD channels. HD sports and movies are shown in incredible detail and were anxiously awaiting the start of football season!brThe SD card slot...

Best Plasma for the Money
Plasma TVs get a bad rap. Reliability with this set is excellent much improved over earlier models. Factor in the second best black production of ANY TV Only bested by the $3000+ for a 40 Pioneer Kuro plasma which Panasonic builds anyway making colorproduction richer and more realistic than on most LCD sets and you have a clear winner. Also the matte screen is a great improvement over older plasmas.brbrProsbrExcellent BlacksbrNo Motion BlurbrEasy Menu structurebrGood number of inputsbrSD for vie...
