Fantastic picture, great sound.
I was torn between this and the Samsung LCD. My friend opted for the Samsung and I was impressed - great picture especially when feed HDTV over FiOS. However once I saw the Panasonic I had to opt for the Plasma. It just flat out looks better to me. I too have FiOS as the source. The picture just seems deeper and more natural than any LCD Ive auditioned. brThe sound is great I have a fairly large room and never take the volume above 20. Its crisp and clear with surprisingly good bass.brThe remote...

Great Value, and best t.v. for watching sports
This is not the least expensive Plasma on the market but it has to be the best value out there. Ive owned it for 60 days and the whole family is quite pleased. All my friends now come to my house to watch big football and basketball games because myplasma is superior to their 120 mhz LCDs for watching games without blurring.brbrWe set up our system with the Panasonic 760 5.1 Surround Sound System as a package which is great for movies and NFL football. Our system looks and sounds better tha...

Hats off to Panasonic.
I had this TV for about a month it replaced an older version the TH50PX600U at the time the highest rated plasma tv. This is by far the best plasma on the market todaypending the arrival of the new pioneer which is far more expansive and for months to come. With the 1080p resolution that support the THX mode and priced in the mid 2k its the clear winner Lcd is nice for video gaming but tv watching will get you somewhat dizzy on fast moving sceens and background flash photographyresporting events...

AWESOME!
Believe everything you read in CNETs review of this TV. They rated it the best HDTV ever and after watching this set for 4 months now Id have to agree. Even SD looks decent on this set and the HD from DirecTV is really sharp and crisp. Blue Ray willabsolutely blow you away! Unlike LCDs theres no motion blur to worry about with plasmas. Ive left either DirecTV the XBox 360 or the blue ray player paused for a while and Ive never seen any image retention or burn in. Its also really nice to se...

Amazon and Panasonic Deliver!
I was one of the folks who jumped on the "pre-order" sale back in early spring, before Panny was actually shipping product. I had narrowly missed the amazing Panasonic Plasma/Blu-Ray deal a few weeks earlier, so I was determined not to miss out. As soon as I saw the price I jumped.
First things first: as many others have reported it was not until late May before Amazon received units from Panasonic. Nonethless, I am happy to report that after "confirming" my order and agreeing to the ...

Cognitive Dissonance
I researched HDTVs for a couple of months, and decided to pull the trigger on the 50pz800u. I am very pleased with my decision. I think the 800u is the best high-end plasma for the money.
After reading countless CNET reviews, Amazon reviews, and AVSforum comments, I narrowed my decision to the Samsung LN46A650 LCD, Pioneer 5020FD Plasma, and the Panny 800u. After watching a couple of football games at Best Buy, I decided that plasma was the way to go--sports looked incredible. <...

Forget the other TVs. Get this one
Spent two months trying to decide on LCD or Plasma. The salesman at the the store in Lubbock recommended this one for many reasons. I was really impressed by his knowledge on the subject. He was not wrong. I could of paid $3200 for the Kuro Pioneer at Best Buy but I snagged this one for $2060 because I also purchased the Blueray dmp-bd35 which gave me $300 off this TV. Cnet also rated the Panasonic dmp-db35 as the best blueray player. To describe this TV in one word? Bada--. Hell that may be two...

Amazing TV! Rated the Best HDTV for the Money by CNET
This is an amazing TV. We considered buying it because CNET rated it the best HDTV for the money. Only one other HDTV is clearly better and it costs almost twice as much. We compared this TV to others and concluded that the picture quality was significantly better than the others we considered. Now that we have had it at home for over a month I am blown away by the picture quality. The color and detail is astonishing. The THX setting makes set-up easy. This TV also has a long life-expectancy at ...

Don't waste your time with LCD.
After going through 3 Sharps and 2 Samsungs I settled on a plasma because I was tired of the banding flashlights purple haze and other problems that seem to be inherent to LCDs. Now I am glad I did. One of the things that irks me about HDTVs is the fact that in order to get the best picture you have to shell out another $300 for professional calibration. With the THX mode on this tv you can take it out of the box and enjoy a superb picture with little or no calibration. The black levels are grea...
