This is a great plasma
This plasma is awesome (note: we have hd cable through comcast) we previously purchased (and returned) an lcd 1080p
this plasma is great because of the following:
the blacks are very black
the images are crystal clear and not distorted (on cable and on dvd)
we don't have a blu ray or anything only a basic 7 year old component input dvd player and we watched "no country for old men" and it looked superb...I can't wait to get a blu ray.

great tv so far
This is my fourth HDTV that I kept since they came out ( I have returned more than you would believe) so I've had a chance to evaluate a few sets and I know what is and is not acceptable. REALLY nice for the money!!!!!
I was dead-set on getting a Samsung LCD. I own a 50 Samsung DLP for our living room. I am glad I bought this Panasonic 42 Plasma. Although the samsungs looked better on the walls at all the stores all the salespeople we talked to said to go with this plasma in either 720p or 1080p. Great TV!
Picked up on sale for $999. Circuit City employee was phenomenal. Talked me out of spending an uneeded $1300 Sony Bravia. Promised me better quality. He was right. What a nice guy. Great picture....sound could be better. HD is absolutely amazing. Well worth it! By the way have directv....sd pic is fair!

Best Bang for your Buck! Awesome HDTV
I bought the TV as an upgrade from my 26" Sharp Aquos. I did a lot of research and came to one conclusion; Panasonic will be my best bang for my buck and it had a series of consistent great reviews from a range of models (80O, 80OU, 85O, 85OU, etc) on various websites like amazon and cnet. Excellent picture
This is my second HDTV. The first is a LCD also Panasonic. The picture quality is better on the plasma especially on SD than the LCD. While the difference is not dramatic it seems to me that plasma TVs have a more natural-looking picture. It also costs less. I highly recommend this TV although plasma TVs are a bit heavier and use more electricity.

awesome tv for the price
Bought this tv last night. going to be using it with HD cable and a ps3 for blurays. so far im thrilled with the plasma... awesome picture even with standard cable and standard dvd player. i did a lot of research before making a purchase and im really glad i went with this panasonic tv.

Awesome HDTV!
This is a great product. Since picking up the set at Best Buy (and using the Amazon price to knock quite a bit off their retail price) I have enjoyed every minute of watching this TV. The picture quality is stunning, and the set is built well. The menus are intuitive and well laid-out.
Don't worry about the common plasma myths. Google "plasma buying guide" for information on modern plasma displays. In my opinion, they are currently the best HD technology.

Excellent TV With a Stunning Picture
I recently bought the 42PZ80U for $899 and I've been using it for about 2 months. I think it's an excellent buy even around $1000.

Best HDTV on the Market in the 42' range.
I looked at several HDTVs and after careful research my wife and I choose this one because of picture clarity and the black back ground. If anyone has a problem with their picture it is because they are not using HDMIi cables.
