Great picture, amazing value

Simply gorgeous!
This is my first HD set, although I have watched a lot of HDTV at friends' homes over the years.

I received the 50 inch G10 about a weak ago. Setup was a simple procedure and I have been able to view the tv in a variety of lighting situations and video source formats. The set is in a brightly lit room (ambient) and I have utilized the THX setting as well as the custom settings outlined in CNET. I've been researching flat panel TV's for about a year now, and thru showroom viewing, friends' recommendations, online reviews (purchasers and experts), and Consumer Reports, I had narrowed my field down to Sony LCD Z- and XBR Series, Samsung LCD and plasma(550, 650, 750), and Panasonic plasma (PZ-800, PZ-850). Great value, personally dissapointed moving up in size
This TV is replacing a 2003 42" Panasonic 720p HDTV Commercial Monitor (a 2001 model I think). I have always been happy with the picture on that set, except in its current location it is not bright enough during the day. I figured I might as well go a little bigger too.
The set is very good, but my wife said that she liked the picture on the previous TV better! This is because we sit too close to the set and we can now easily distinguish subtle imperfections in various video sources. ...

I like Plasma TV's much better than LCD TV's. To me LCD looks to bright. I love the dark black level's of Plasma TV's.The picture on this TV is awesome. Standard cable looks the same. By far the best TV for the money
Beyond awesome picture. Blacks are so black and the colors are perfect. There is no reason to buy any other set. LCD's with LED backlight are the only ones even close and they cost several thousand more. The Vieracast works so easy. Just plug in a cat5 from your network and your all set. One touch of the remote and you have weather, Stocks, Youtube and more. If you buy anything else just remember you bought the wrong TV. THIS IS THE ONE YOU WANT.
