If you've got a wall phone, you need a long cord. This does the job & it's cheap enough to replace when it gets too tangled.

Throw your cordless phones away and attach this
I got so sick of those expensive cordless phones needing equally expensive batteries every two years or so, so I got rid of all the cordless phones in the house and replaced them with corded phones. Yes, they still make corded phones with caller id and answering machines included. Still, I needed to attach 25 foot cords to the phone, and now I have mobility as well.
