Nice addition to a laptop
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This eSATA card works reliably with no functional issues on a variety of laptops and OS's (Dell, HP, Vista, Windows 7). Drivers were easy to find and install. It has never failed to operate as expected. This makes it very easy to add a couple of TBs of fast external drives.

Good product for eSATA
I purchased this product for use with an external TB hard drive and high volume video work, so the speed of eSATA was crucial. Most times this product lived up to typical transfer speeds for eSATA. I moved at about 2.0 Gb/s, but occasionally it would perform slower. Overall, a good buy if you are looking to add speed for external hard drives to your laptop.

Works great but cannot boot from connected drives
This card has worked well for me. Very fast with eSATA drives. I connect three external Western Digital 750 Gig hard drives to it (two at at time of course). The only other thing I would like is the ability to boot from the external SATA drives. This card does not support booting from the connected drives, or at least I have been unable to find a way; even after searching the web for a while.

Works Great

Pros: Seems very fast. I use it primarily with linux, and it was recognized as soon as I plugged it in. Used to format an external Raid Array in ext4, mounted and I was off. No complaints at all.
Cons: None that I can see, does what it says it does.
