Tech Level: high

Pros: I have been waiting for this game for a long time, and it has widely surpassed my expectations.
I am a huge fan of the first two games, I was very worried about how Bethesda would handle this series, but they did a superb job.
Yes, it is similar to elder scrolls: Oblivion, but I think it is a much better game, they improved many aspects that were needed serious working on in Oblivion.

Money Well Spent

Tech Level: somewhat high
Ownership: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: An absolutely gleaming gem. Bethesda has once again created an immersive, realistic, lovingly detailed environment.

Many of my fellow Fallout fans have been nervously watching Bethesda with this title, deeply worried that the developers won't be able to get the wonderful spirit of the Fallout universe.

Happily they DID, and this did very well. It's a great game that brings one ...

Not Your Parents' Fallout

Fun:  Fallout 3 represents Bethesda Softworks' first take of the legendary game franchise since they purchased the rights from the failing Interplay in 2004. So, how did Bethesda do? In essence, Fallout 3 is Oblivion (Bethesda's most well-known game) with a sci-fi/post-apocalyptic skin on it. The Good, Bad, and Ugly on this game includes...

Good:
- Spectacular Graphics (I'd have said beautiful, but we ARE talking about a post-apocalyptic world here). From...

Overall, a strong step forward for Bethesda with a few unfortunately major flaws.

Fun:  The next release by Bethesda after the gorgeous but surprisingly shallow game Oblivion, Fallout 3 is a vast improvement on almost every level over the company's previous efforts, providing an extreme level of high-quality content and a truly massive game experience at the expense of average writing and a poorly-implemented main plot.

First off, graphics. I'm running the game at High quality (as opposed to Very High) on a computer using parts that were cu...

Amazing

Tech Level: high
Ownership: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: This game is by far the best game to get for the holidays. It's got literally hundreds of hours worth of content. The first time through is great but you really should play it many times over. If you have ever played Oblivion, the gameplay and overall feel are similar but vastly improved. The graphics are good, the sound is excellent, the gameplay is stunning (VATS in particular), and the overall sto...

WOW...Even Better Than I Hoped

Fun:  First, understand my bias. I'm a fast-twitch FPS fan who never had much joy with RPGs (unless it stood for Rocket Propelled Grenades). I just couldn't get excited about the spells, wizards and magic which dominate the genre. But after about 20 hours of play, this game may have changed my mind. It's not a traditional FPS and it's not a traditional RPG.

1)It's a polished, complete piece of work, especially compared to alternative PC games in 2008.

Fallout 3. Bravo

Fun:  First, I am a gamer. I have been for 25+ years. For those not wanting to read a lot, let me just say this: Fallout 3 is in my top 5 best games ever of any genre.

Anyone who has played Oblivion by Bethesda will be very familiar with F3.

Anyone who has played a previous version of Fallout and worried about a new company putting it together: Don't.

Anyone who hasn't played a previous version of Fallout and enjoys a great story with...

Awesome Game With Minor Teething Issue

Fun:  I won't bore anyone with the particulars of the game like the story, mechanics, etc. Read a professional review for that information. What I will comment on is the common issue of the game crashing and locking up at random. Sometimes the game runs for hours on end without a crash or slowdown. Other times it will crash right after I click on Play at the Fallout 3 splash screen. I chalk this up to Bethesda using the same game engine from Oblivion, which suffered from...

Sequel to Fallout 1 & 2 is not too bad

Fun:  Fallout 3

FALLOUT 3 PROS:
- Gameplay is somewhere between a FPS & RPG.
I've never enjoyed FPS style games prior to this. They always made me feel too wired on edge. So the VATS system allowed me to use the turn base style when I wanted. That was a big plus for me.
- Good Post-Apocalyptic Graphics (I liked Oblivion Graphics too)
- Great musical score - that's what really gives it the 50's theme, more than any of the picture...

Fun:  This was my original review:
I haven't had any problems with any of the software that I installed on my computer. I run a clone system with an ASUS P5 series motherboard, 1024 RAM and 3.0 GHz using XP. I also use all the Nero products that I really need to use. I don't know why people are having problems with this Securom software. Maybe it's because they're using Vista and Vista sucks. Kudos to Bethesda for not selling out to Microsoft and making the gam...
