Speedy cable modem, easy installation
We just ordered th SB-5120 from Fry's, and they sent this model instead. The SB-5101 has almost identical specifications, just the case is a little different, and I guess the 5120 includes TurboDOCS software. We previously had an old Toshiba, which has given stellar service for 5 years, but we decided it was time to replace it before it failed. The Motorola Surfboard was very easy to install, just plug in the ethernet cable to the router (or to your PC), connect the coaxial cable and plug in the...

Excellent so far!
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year Pros: I've had this baby going for about 2-3 months, without a hitch. Though no fan of Comcast per se, I've been very happy with this (SB5101) modem and my HSI thus far (also 2-3 months).
Cons: Nada.
Other Thoughts: By the way, the web admin page is at: http://192.168.100.1/ Good luck trying to find that web admin address ...

Great Broadband modem for Comcast users
I had no complaints about the modem and it was so easy to install in the computer. The modem worked like a charm but it took me about 30 mins to explain to Comcast that I owned this modem and that I wasnt renting it from them for $3.00month. This product will pay for it self especially with the mail-in rebate. Save some easy green and but this product because you wont regret it.

READ THE REBATE DETAILS FIRST
You only get the 60.00 if you activate the comcast cable service. Thats the catch. If not you will only get the reg rebate. We only got 20.00 rebate on this item as we had our already exisitng cable service through brighthouse.

You Can't Get a Better Cable Modem, but . . .
I've had a Motorola 5100 for about four years. It gradually got degraded and these, like all electronics, wear out and need to be taken out of service. So I bought a new 5101.
The switch was very quick and easy. I called Cox and gave them the information they needed and was online fast.
Let me tell you --- the Internet really flew! I can't tell you how thrilled I was. It made all the difference in the world.
I have a wireless network and a Linksys router. I switc...

Great 'plug and play' modem! Solid performer!
Our 'Terayon' modem that came with our 'Adelphia' broadband cable connection died after 2 plus years, so my cable/internet provider swapped out the defective modem for this new 'Motorola'. I was a bit leery and concerned about having to hook up another modem for fear that something would surely go wrong with the hookup on our 2 PC router network, and I would have to call a tech or a consultant. It took about 3 minutes to open the box, hookup the power, cable, and ethernet connectors, and attem...

Great buy!
Only problem I had was the fact that I had to call Cox to register the modem to activate it. ....Havent lost internet connection since I installed it over a month ago.
