Vista 64 bit works like a dream
I don't have much to add to what others have said. I'm running Vista (64 bit version). I plugged the dongle into a USB port and my computer immediately recognized it and started installing the driver. When it was finished, I double-clicked on the bluetooth icon in the lower right hand corner of my screen, clicked on "add wireless device" in the window that popped up, made my Motorola phone discoverable, and followed the on- screen instructions on the phone and the computer.

Works fine with Vista 64bits
I bought the bluetooth because I needed to sync my Palm with the desktop on Windows Vista 64bit, but I could use it for many other components including my cell phone.
In addition, I defined a serial port and it works excellent.

Pros:
Good distance and works great in the beginning. After a month, now I'm getting static and slow transfer rate. And it's not my computer since I just upgraded to i7. Plus, I have bought another Bluetooth dongle and it works great. The software that came with it is not bad. Cheap.

Difficult to set up
This = IOGEAR Enhanced Data Rate Class 2 Bluetooth USB Adapter Ranges up to 66 Feet
Have two LTs (Thinkpad/Dell) both of which claim to support bluetooth.
Also have bluetooth logitech mouse which should work with them. (And a bluetooth headset)
Could never get them to pair (either LT). Googling pointed many frustrated users.
Bought myself two IOGEAR USB adapters - one mini (longer range), one micro.
This one - worked only with Dell LT. Did not work with thinkpad. Altho...

Worked with ease
Product works great. Plug & play. Did not need to use the installation CD included with the product. I am using it for Skype with Vista Home Premium 64 bit operating system and Plantronics 640 headset.
Plugged the IOGEAR adapter into my PC. The PC immediately recognized the adapter and started installing the driver. I then clicked on the Bluetooth icon in the system tray and added my Plantronics 640 device. Couldn't have been any easier.
Only problem I haven't figured...
