this is the OEM version. you only get to install it on one machine. once you use the activation key, you can never use it again. and microsoft won't offer technical support either. that's why it's so cheap. the only way you can ever re-install it is if your hard drive crashes or your motherboard stops working for some reason. then you can call microsoft and convince them you're not lying. you might have to take it to a repair shop and have them call. this is the price you pay for getting...

used item or sp3 not good for reinstall
It came in a microsoft wrapper but I goofed up and tryed to reinstall it but was told I used up all my installs and had to call in to microsoft . I have allways got 4 installs on same code with sp-1 & sp-2 so this one had been used 3 times befor I got it or sp-3 will only let you install it 1 time.

Pros: I have always used XP and think it is a great system. However I think I got a lemon of a disc.
Cons: This disc would not load no matter which of my three DVD drives I used. It would skip so many files it could never set up Windows. I tried a friends copy to see what was up and it loaded first time. My mistake I waited too long for a return.
