Pros: I waited to do Vista, let along Vista 64 bit.
I installed this on:
GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R MOBO.
Q6600 processor.
GeForce 9800GT
Installation was done in 20 minutes.
Updates took a little while, about another 20 minutes. No problem with drivers, no blue screens yet.
And WOW, no issues. Was very happy to see that!!!...

Don't believe the Vista Hate! Get 64 bit Vista Home Premium!
Vista x64 is a necessity if you want to use more than 3.5GB (or so) of RAM (2GB per application). It's rock solid and has better driver support now (1-1/2yrs after introduction) than when I bought it, but even then, it ran flawlessly on my MacBook Pro and Mac Pro. My Mac Pro has 6GB of RAM, and Vista x64 sees all of it. This is a plus for people who use Photoshop and other high-intensity applications. Mandatory driver signing renders this OS incompatible with just about any audio/video hardware you have, all for the sake of DRMming the entire signal stream. Crippleware at its finest.
