quick impression
For the price - this cannot be beat. I was up and connected in 20 minutes.
The screen is crystal clear and anti glare.
Very little junk preloaded.
The issue I have is the battery.
Not only is the life of the battery fully charged only 2 hours and change.
Not only that but I fully charged the battery last night.
Closed it down.
Took it out the next day and the battery was down to 89%!
That's outrageous.

A full-sized Notebook for the price of a Netbook
I have been contemplating picking up a new Netbook computer to replace my 8 year-old Winbook Notebook ever since my father-in-law and sister-in-law each picked up a MSI Wind U120-001US 10-Inch Netbook and external DVD drive at Micro-Center. Even with the extended warranty, they spent just over $500. The problem I have is that I really could not stand the small keyboard. Plus, I prefer not to have carry a separate drive to watch movies, or install software.

Toshiba Satellite 5955
I bought this laptop as a gift for my dad. He is not a gamer, nor does he do presentations. This unit fits the bill. The laptop was up and running in no time. It does everything as expected. Like the other reviewer said, there's not an indicator for CAPS LOCK, nor is there a bluetooth or webcam, but that's a minor issue for my dad.
