Great Laptop
Tech Level: somewhat high
Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: You can actually downgrade this to XP PRO, but you have to use a custom built windows install to do it (nlite should help you out), all the drivers I got directly from intel and realtek. everything boots up super well and everything works with no issues. Been running XP for almost a year now with this wonder.

Sturdy laptop, excellent specs and reasonable price
I am enjoying the processor speed and the substantial memory in the ram. I would not consider the battery life stellar but it is good. I have been getting close to a couple of hours on a fully charged battery. The laptop looks sturdy and well constructed. I carry it around a lot (home, school, work) and therefore how it handles being moved around a lot is important. So far it is holding up pretty well.

WAY Overpriced for what it delivers
This is so overpriced since it uses an outdated Intel Chipset and the absolutely bottom of the line GM3100 video controller found in the cheapest Netbooks and Notebooks around. Rates as a Class 5 video Processer.
For this money you can easily buy a 17" screen with dual 160GB 7500rpm drives, Excellent Nvidia High end graphics (9000), with a New LED Screen too IF you know what to look for. My guess which is educated since I am in IT is that Sony makes 100% markup on most things and the dealer...

Pros: Great physique and lcd screen size. Installed XP as soon as i bought it. You definitely need to integrate the sata drivers in the XP install CD to have XP running as your main OS. Good desktop replacement.
