Eventually it works...
First attempt at installation unsuccessful, the HD was recognized but could not connect. 24-7 tech line does not apply to this product. After two weeks, 4 calls to the tech line (2.5 hours spent on hold) and 4 procedures not included in the installation guide, I finally got it to work with disconnecting issues. Nice NAS Storage...
If 250gb will be enough storage, you can't beat this deal for the price...
It is also is a FTP server... This is my second one and both performed as advertised... No problems...
Didn't use the included disc... Just go to 192.168.1.1 and you can set the box up right from the GUI interface... If your router is 192.168.1.1, move it to a higher IP eg: 192.168.1.3 and set up the NAS then change the NAS to a new IP eg: 192.168.1.5 the change your router back to 192.168.1.1...

Expected More, Got Less - NOT VISTA FRIENDLY
DRIVE MAPPING SOFTWARE DOES NOT WORK EASILY WITH VISTA!!!!!
Software works great in XP. Unit Will format whatever HD you put in it to a unix file system. Make sure its empty. Disappointing when 3/4 of my drive was full and I had and wanted to share it out. Had to find a dumping ground for my files, format, then dump back. Seems to lag when first accessed via network. Bought to replace an actual network file server. Disappointment.

Fine if found for the right price...
I'm typically switching between about 3 computers, so my files tend to be juggled around quite a bit. I finally found this unit on sale for $[...] (after mail-in-rebates and all) so I figured I'd give it a shot. All in all, I'm pleased, but there are many compromises and such that must be dealt with.

Rediculous design .. horrible support
This is one of the nuttiest designed products ever. It is supposed to configure itself, but comes set to the same IP address (static, not DHCP) as most network routers (192.168.1.1). The user interface is mostly mysterious. After four calls to their tech support, mine still isn't working .. The browser-based configuration is buggy, buggy. Hours wasted (reboot, download new firmware, push the reset button, cycle the power .. blah blah blah). Don't buy this!!!
