Great sound. Break'em in first.
Great sound, good isolation. They are very comfortable when you find the right size insert. I don't like personally like the asymetric cord layout and think that the main cord is about 4in too short. Otherwise they have been great.

Not as good as Year old same Japanese model
I got the black version of the same model at Narita Airport a year ago. The Japanese model sounded much better. Better base and clearer but has a different wire cord that tends to feel like an air tube. This wire tends to get kinked. The new verison of the same model has more durable wire cords; but has significantly lower qaulity sound. Still a good value as it is still the most comfortable earphone out there.

I have no complaints about these headphones. I've had them for a couple months now. I did not do what one person mentioned about the "break-in" but finding the right size ear buds made a HUGE difference in the bass reflex. Also, make sure they are positioned correctly in your ears. Excellent headphones for mp3 players
The headphones from Sony are top notch, delivering excellent "oomph" and decent "highs", which are lacking on the standard Ipod earpieces. The Sony headphones are reasonably priced in buy.com, unlike other sites where it retails for $39.95 or more + tax and shipping. These deliver the BEST SOUND QUALITY of any earbuds I've tried. I've used noise-cancelling headphones in the past, but these MUFFLE OUTSIDE NOISE very well... in fact I often leave them in on the metro whether I'm playing music or not. these things ROCK, esp for the PSP
Usually, I hate ear buds. They always manage to fall out of my ear. It's hard walking down the streets of NY or sittin on the bumpy ass subways without those damn ear buds popping out.

Great headphones for the price....
I did a lot of research for earbud-style headphones for my iPod about a year ago. These came up again and again. Of course, back then, you could only buy these in black in the US, so I bought my white pair from a Japanese e-tailer on eBay.

I use these to listen to my favorite playlist while I mow my lawn or snowblow my driveway. I bought the Sony EX71SL phones because the earbuds that came with my iPod kept falling out. Best set of headphones at price point
My Second Pair. Frist Pair last over 2 years of use. Greatly abused them but they still worked great. Very comfortable to wear compared to other brands and types. Better set of headphones out there but not at this price point.
