Misunderstood & Lonely Board
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: Works. Bios updates have definitely helped. Same lovely, easy to overclock bios. Looks nice too. Great cooling solutions. Solid state capacitors, Tri-SLI, full penryn support.
Cons: Not all aftermarket cpu fans will work with this. It is also picky about RAM.
Other Thoughts: Make sure you RAM will work. I use DDR3-1600...

The fundamental problem with all 790I
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: First, this is a 790I board, which features DDR3 Support and SLI support. So, it is what it is.
Cons: Nvidia's chipset level support has some serious issues. Out of a run of 15 boards, 4 were completely unusable after more then two months; 2 were basically DOA out of the box with random failures, lockups, and freezes. The same equi...

Tech Level: high Ownership: less than 1 day This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: This offers improved SLi performance, better 45nm processor compatibility, as well as, DDR3. You can't go wrong. It has everything you'd want in today's motherboards.
Cons: It's not cheap compared to most. You get what you pay for, though.
Other Thoughts: To the guy inquiring about the "pencil mod&...

Very Unstable Mobo
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: SLI and DDR3 support among other things.
Cons: This board is very unstable. There are hundreds of posts on the EVGA forum that points this out (google the forum site since I cannot link the URL in this review)
While NewEgg quotes high approval ratings, this board suffers from serious flaws.

Tech Level: average Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: Easy to install, booted up first time without any problems through XP SP3 install. BIOS Utilities were extremely easy to adjust (i.e. multiple fan control; CPU and RAM adjustments extremely easy and useful). Runs well with either XP or VISTA, no issues with drivers so far!! Overall Outstanding Product!!! Thanks Newegg for getting...

Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month Pros: The boards physical layout is well thought out, and all the SATA ports are accessible, even with two honking dual GPU cards installed. In performance, the board redeemed itself compared to the previous 680i and 780i versions. It was neck and neck with the Asus Striker Extreme II (Includes a northbridge water block) in majority of benchmarks, a close second to that board in memory tests, and superior in r...

Freezes Often
Tech Level: average Ownership: 1 month to 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: Awesome performance, when it's working.
Cons: I'm going to paste what Mike_V stated, as it speaks truth:
This board is very unstable; it will randomly lock-up/freeze 2-3 times a night, forcing you to do a hard reset.
There are hundreds of posts on the EVGA forum that points this out (google the forum s...

A beaut.
Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: Rigged it up and started first boot. Extremely fast, vista 64u could view the raid without drivers. Instructions very straight forward. Auto settings for RAM found correct 9-9-9-24 timings. Ram uses 1.7v, but was showing 1.5v as default but very easy to find and change the voltage. Board was easy to install and came with plenty of SATA wires. Manual ver...

Awesome freaking board!!!!!!!
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: Quite possibly one of the most beautiful motherboards I've ever seen. Performance is amazing as well is tweakability. I'm running everything at stock settings for now until I finish lapping my Thermalright IFX-14 heatsink.
Cons: One, my old board seemed to have a faster network connection but maybe I just to buy new ethernet cables, I...

Excellent MB & Service
Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: Gave up on two Gigabyte MBs with issues and ordered an eVGA 790i Ultra board and after ironing out a glitch with the help of their 24/7 phone support, got things running perfectly. eVGA ROCKS BIG TIME (and so does NewEgg).
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: Could not believe a computer component manu...
