not upgradable if you have Studio8 package
I tried to use Flash CS3 upgrade which did not work. After I called Adobe CS and asked them why. They told me SORRY you can not upgrade one items from a package as Studio8 . You need to buy a full version. I could not return the package since it was opened software package. I sold it online but lost $60 . Thanks to Adobe.

The Crackdown is real - do your research first
I tried to upgrade Flash MX to Flash CS3 - not possible. The software (all Adobe software) has new SUPER conservative & ridiculously restrictive licensing. BEWARE
1) you cannot upgrade from a bundle, ie, Studio MX which includes Dreamweaver MX and Flash MX
2) you cannot upgrade from Flash 4 or version that is prior to MX
3) you cannot upgrade from a bootlegged or borrowed or otherwise non-registered version of MX. And you cannot register MX or older versions af...

Flash Professional is for Professionals
Flash Professional 3 is for professional designers / developers. Why should adobe allow you to upgrade from a product that is 4 versions back? This is basically a new product since Flash MX. The previous review is therefore ridiculous. This offers a great set of tools to create anything from animations, games, to corporate rich internet applications.
Considering the price, I believe this is a great value. Becoming fluent in ActionScript 3.0 can bring an investment return worth many t...

Poor upgrade requirement notice!
I have both Flash 8 Pro and MX Pro 2004 as studio versions. But Adobe completely fails to tell you that this WILL NOT upgrade a studio version of Flash. Even their website's requirements page says all you need is a full copy of Flash for the upgrade but does not mention that it cannot be a studio version. Deceiving product requirements. Called up Adobe and got angry that I had already opened and tried to install the software so they are processing a refund if I can produce the proof of purch...

Not worth the upgrade
I can't find a reason why anyone would upgrade to Flash CS3 from CS2.
It's the same interface, apparently most of the same features, and not significant enough to upgrade. I'm actually let down that Adobe seems to care so little about this product, given the widespread use of Flash video on the web today.
One of my biggest pet peeves that I had hoped would be fixed in this version but wasn't, was the inability to trim videos by punching in times rather than using the s...

Before you buy, confirm your upgrade options
In response to the previous review, it took me all of 3 minutes to go to the Adobe website and find a nifty little interactive module where you select what Flash version or Bundle version you have and it tells you your upgrade path. Adobe does state clearly what your upgrade path is and I would recommend to all to go any developer's website first to find that information then to Amazon if they offer a better deal.

It's better than the 8-Series...
Flash CS3 has a wonderful interface including newly integrated tabs for windows like Scene, Color, Align, etc. It's more user-friendly than before and you can choose to do more things with your published flash than before as well. A very good tool for the web animator.

Upgrade issues!
This is a warning to anyone looking to upgrade to Flash CS3. If you are upgrading from a version of Flash that came in a software bundle such as Studio 8, THIS UPGRADE WILL NOT WORK. It will install completely, rather than upgrade the previous software, and will not activate with a Studio 8 serial number. You'll have to buy one of the Creative Suites to upgrade.
I'm giving this product a low rating because the most challenging thing about Flash shouldn't be the installation. Th...

Great for a newbie
I am new to Flash and I think this version is very user-friendly. Keep in mind that I am not doing any heavy animations - just simple projects.

Great power, bad user interface, no stroke
The latest Flash upgrade enhances this amazing world standard for vector animation. Like many Adobe products the amount of power under the hood is both astonishing and overwhelming. Unfortunately this software, like other Adobe products such as Photoshop, is plagued by a terrible user interface. Once again get ready to enroll yourself in classes and buy a pile of books just to decipher a user interface that is completely non-intuitive. If your idea was to sit down and get something done be prepa...
