Design Flaw - No Longer a "Spacemaker"
Extra inches were added to newly rounded door for no good reason leaving less space between the bottom of the microwave and the top of the stove. This makes it difficult to maneuver tall pots and pans or to use a long spoon for stirring. This is potentially hazardous to the cook which in my opinion is a safety concern. GE needs to return to the earlier straight-edge design.

Features good, longevity so-so
This is my third GE Spacemaker. Not long after buying my house, the microwave died (oh the horror). It was about seven years old. Despite reading about reliability problems, I bought an identical unit. It lasted five years. I think the days of passing your appliances on to your grandchildren are over, alas.
Leaving longevity out, I like the GE. The controls are easy and convenient and you don't need to dig out the darned manual everytime you have to reset the clock. I like the turntab...

Which Charcoal FIlter? Why Not Included?
I purchased a GE Microwave Model HVM1540DN1BB and when I installed it I was surprised to learn that the charcoal filter that is needed when the unit vents to the room was not included with the product. The Whirlpool product it replaced came with the filter included.
Purchasing the correct filter part number is almost impossible to do because of confusion within GE regarding the correct filter part number to be used with this unit.
